starry skies

It was...late. Around 11 or so at night.
Most weapons would be asleep or at the very least settling down at this time- but some of them weren't.
Some were wide awake, despite the time.
One of them was Bowyer.
He just...couldn't get to sleep.
Things had been tense recently.
Stressful…? Is that the right word?
Probably.
Well a lot had been going on and a lot had been coursing through his mind - a break sounded nice.
A little break from all the tension sounds good.
Silence, without the fear of anyone sketchy interfering.
But there weren't too many places to run here, the keep wasn't necessarily…
Lets say, nothing ever stopped.
There weren't many places you could escape for a long amount of time.
Always about work!
Ugh…
Gimme a break!...

Bowyer never liked the dark.
Never liked how it always got colder during the night.
Didn't like how, without any lights, you practically couldn't see at all.
It was worse in the forest, though...
But this time...the dark hit different. It seemed...better.
Better than all the tension going on in the keep, or home as he had started calling it.

He got himself out through one of the more discreet, quiet doors at the back, not uttering a word.
Tonight was warm, for whatever reason.
It was never warm at this hour. He should know.
But it was nice. He always preferred it like that.
The grass was slightly damp, from a thunderstorm that had occurred the day before, but it wasn't dangerous, and it was going to dry later anyway.
I mean, for him it never was- it was just a nuisance but for Mack...that's a completely different story.
But back on track!
Bowyer sat down, leaning against the building.
It was cold, and hard (considering it was BRICK) but it didn't matter.
He sighed (as much as a robot could) and looked up, having nothing else to do.
Until his eyes widened.
"What…"
He didn't expect to see so many stars illuminating the sky like that...

What emotion was this…?
He didn't know...but it was definitely a nice one.
There were so many stars...all different sizes.
Some smaller, some bigger.
Some dim, some bright.
It was strange. He had seen bright stars like these before but it never hit as hard as it did now.
It was so stupid to feel like this over mere stars- just...big spheres of light floating in the black void above them- but it happened anyway.
He felt reassured by the stars, but then noticed the shattered Star Road, and frowned.
Did we have to do so much damage to it…?
They did nothing to us...why did we do that?...
His mood started to decrease...and he started to feel small. Insignificant.
Everything is so big.
Those stars, that ethereal Road, they're huge.
But then you decide to look at these...these weapons. Robots.
Their purpose being what, world domination?
Small. Smaller than everything. In the grand scheme of things - meaningless.
There were so many other universes out there, many of which the gang had not gone to yet.
The world was huge...and the gang was tiny, in comparison to everything else...despite how superior and in control they felt.
And that scared him.

But he wasn't going to let that dwell on him!
No! Shut up!
Bowyer stopped looking at the stars, despite every single one of them being captivating.
He felt the urge to look at them again but- no.
If they were going to provoke those thoughts, then he wouldn't be doing that again for a while.
The dark started to make him feel drowsy, but instead of going back inside, he just stayed.
Not drowsy enough to sleep, though.
As a robot sleep isn't even necessary- but it was nice either way.
He started to zone out, vision going blurry and thinking of things unknown even to himself.
But then-
"Hey…!"
This startled the bow, snapping him out of his trance. He jumped back, letting out a shriek, not expecting anyone else to be here.

...it was just Mack...what was the scream for!?
Silly…

"Wh- Mackie..! Scared me, you did!" He was now laughing at himself, and so was Mack.
"I can tell!" He continued to laugh, and sat down next to Bowyer.
The grass was slightly damp, but it wasn't enough to cause any damage.
It was like sitting on something mildly warm. That's what it felt like to him.
"Why are you out here…? Isn't it like...midnight?" Mack's tone was slightly concerned. There was nothing to be concerned about, but...it wasn't normal for anyone to be doing this…?
Just staying outside for no reason at all...that was strange.
"Uhhh…know I do nyat, really. Why are you out here?"
"Cause I saw you outside from the window. I didn't know what the heck you were doing so I came to check."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes really!"
And they both laughed.

For a while, they both rambled about random topics, laughing as they did so.
They were both tired - it was midnight now - but it honestly didn't matter.
The stars only brightened from there on out, and for a while they had been looking at them and talking about things unknown, and then the door creaked open again.
The two didn't even know, until whoever it was started to talk.
"So you guys were the noise keeping me up...and honestly I'm not mad."
The two looked, and Mack smiled brightly. "Yariiiiii!!"
This caused Yari and Bowyer to start laughing.
Mack was cute sometimes.

The trio had ended up settling down out here.
It stayed warm all night, and the stars stayed bright all night.
It made them all feel rather calm.
They were already incredibly happy from talking to each other so much...but…
No stress was felt.
No stress to act a certain way, no tension being felt.
No more feeling small and insignificant.
No longer feeling upset.
No longer feeling tired.

Everything felt good.

They ended up staying exactly where they were until work started.
It was one of the best days of their lives.
