As The Sun Went Down, We Ended Up On The Ground

"I love you." I whisper in her ear and pull Lindsey closer. Every night, we meet at the tree and watch the sunset together. It was kind of a tradition for us. A noise of contentment passed her lips as she smiled.

"I love you too." She snuggled further into my arms. I chuckled as a great idea popped into my head. Slowly, my hands made their way to her sides, her weakness. My fingers glided across her sensitive skin lightly, creating a trail of goosebumps. Lindsey giggled and squirmed, trying to get out of my reach.

"Stop! Stop it, Vic!" She squealed as I wrapped my arm around her small stomach, restricting her to my lap and tickling her even more. Slowly, we began to slide to the left, until there was no more branch underneath us. I looked up to the sky as everything began to proceed in slow motion. Lindsey screamed next to me as I reached over to her, grabbing her waste and pulling her over to me. Her body was against mine as my back hit the ground, resulting in a loud "umph" from me. She giggled as the train passed by, slow and producing a cool wind that made her nearly platinum hair flow.

"That was really scary." She said in her soothing voice. A smile passed her pink lips and her sky blue eyes looked full of excitement. The sky was a purple grey that reflected off her pale skin. Her flawless giggle echoed off of the colorful landscape around us.

"You're so beautiful." I whispered and sat us both up, pulling her onto my lap. I kissed her neck gently and she froze.

"I'm sorry, I forgot." I pulled away from her and stroked her cheek, wiping her tears away.

"Darling, you'll be okay." I recited her a line from the song I was working on. It was about us, called Bulletproof Love. Because that's what we have.

"Your birthday's next month, are you excited? I got us tickets to the Sleeping With Sirens concert." She looked back at me and smiled. It wasn't even a smile, actually. It didn't reach her eyes like it usually does.

"I can't wait to see Kellin again. I haven't seen him or Katelynne in forever. How are they?" With her mind off of the scarring subject that made her freeze, Lindsey seemed happier than she did a second ago.

"He called me yesterday. She's pregnant!"

"Really?" Her voice was laced with excitement.

"I am so happy for them! But they couldn't have at least waited until their wedding?" She giggled. Kellin and Katelynne were supposed to be married the week after Lindsey's birthday, on May 17th.

"No. Apparently they were really eager to get it on. Get this- Kellin was on tour and-"

"I'm not sure I want to see where this is going." She put her hand over my mouth and laughed.

"Okay, sorry." I spoke after I removed her delicate hands from my mouth.

"LINDSEY STAMEY YOU BETTER GET YOUR ASS IN HERE IN 30 SECONDS OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY" A voice boomed from Lindsey's house.

"Oh my god, I forgot about Bert. I have to go." She spoke quickly and stood up, brushing her Pierce The Veil shirt (she was pretty proud of being my girlfriend) off and slipping her Vans on, which were by the tree.

"Until next time?" I called.

"Next time!" She returned over her shoulder as she ran away. Even though we lived next door to each other, I always said a formal goodbye, because I never know when the last time I'll see her is. I sighed and stood up, brushing the butt of my black skinny jeans off. I hated walking home with grass on my butt. It was weird. I strolled through the small field and combed my fingers through my hair numerous times. I'm so worried about her, what with her somewhat abusive father, who she now calls "Bert." He was pretty threatening, thinking he was a rocker with his greasy long black hair and stupid looking stubble. He even changed her last name so nobody would know Lindsey was his daughter. Thankfully, she would never willingly be a McCracken. A loud scream sounded and I cringed. I knew who it was and I know why she's screaming. My knees became wobbly as I knew that there was nothing I could do about it. She told me to never interfere when this happened, for fear that I would get hurt. I fell to my knees, sobbing as her screams echoed all around me. My head in my hands, my body became weak. Her cries got louder as my forehead hit the cement that I forgot I was on and the lights turned out.

A/N So this is my new story, and it's gonna be kind of short. (2-4 chapters, at the most.) If you're a PTV fan, please don't get mad at me because I know that the lyrics "Darling you'll be okay" are not in Bulletproof love. Just hold on and everything will correct itself.
