Aphrodite would be my matron goddess since I am a Libra and my planet is Venus.

Aphrodite is an ancient Greek goddess associated with love, beauty, pleasure, passion and procreation. She is identified with the planet Venus, which is named after the Roman goddess Venus, with whom Aphrodite was extensively syncretized. Aphrodite's major symbols include myrtles, roses, doves, sparrows, and swans.

Aphrodite was such a force, even her accessories held otherworldly abilities. Her belt (sometimes called a "magic girdle") had the power to inspire desire and cause men and gods to hopelessly fall for whoever's wearing it. Aphrodite was the Olympian goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. She was depicted as a beautiful woman often accompanied by the winged godling Eros (Love). Her attributes included a dove, apple, scallop shell and mirror. In Classical sculpture and fresco she was usually depicted nude. Aphrodite, ancient Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty, identified with Venus by the Romans. The Greek word aphros means "foam", and Hesiod relates in his Theogony that Aphrodite was born from the white foam produced by the severed genitals of Uranus (Heaven), after his son Cronus threw them into the sea.

Zeus married Aphrodite to Hephaestus-he wasn't even as a threat because of his ugliness and deformity. Despite this marriage to Hephaestus, Aphrodite had many lovers. Her lovers include both gods and men-including the god Ares and the mortal Anchises. Aphrodite, the goddess who emerged from the sea foam. Aphrodite was the Olympian goddess who represented beauty and love. According to Homor, "She inspired love and lust among the gods and mortals. And all the creatures that live on land or in the sea." One of Aphrodite's strength was that she was beautiful and attracted a lot of men. A weakness of Aphrodite is that every time she saw someone more beautiful or attractive then her she gave them a horrible life or killed them. Another weakness of Aphrodite is that she cheated on her husband (Hephaestus) a lot.

Aphrodite was married to the lame smith god, Hephaestus, when she had an affair with Ares. She gave birth to the twin gods Phobos (Fear) and Deimos (Terror) who accompanied Ares into battle and spread fear, terror, dread and trembling in their wake. She was the most beautiful of all goddesses in terms of appearance, but her personality was rather damaged because she is described as weak and frightened as well as ill-tempered and easily offended. Aphrodite therefore causes Hippolytus's stepmother, Phaedra, to fall in love with him, knowing Hippolytus will reject her. After being rejected, Phaedra commits suicide and leaves a suicide note to Theseus telling him that she killed herself because Hippolytus attempted to rape her.

One of the most worshiped of Greek deities,Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, and procreation. As you might guess, Aphrodite has a pretty wild love life. She provides Olympus with more scandal and trouble than it could ever want. She is often vain, selfish, vengeful, and untrustworthy. Through Aphrodite was married to the ugly Smith God, Hephaestus, it was not by her choice but by arrangement of Hera. Her true love was Ares, the God of War. The two conceived three children: Phobus, Deimus, and Harmonia. They were also said to have been the parents of Eros and Anteros.

Her mother was Dione and her father was Zeus. She had 3 siblings Athena, Hera, and Hellen. Aphrodite had a husband named Hephaestus but she cheated on him with Ares. She had 9 children named Antteros, Eros, Demius, Phobos, Harmonia, Eryx, Hermaphroditus, Priapus, and Aeneas. Hermaphroditus, the two-sexed child of Aphrodite and Hermes (Venus and Mercury) had long been a symbol of androgyny or effeminacy, and was portrayed in Greco-Roman art as a female figure with male genitals. Hermaphroditus's name is derived from those of his parents Hermes and Aphrodite.

Aphrodite was usually depicted as a highly-attractive young woman who dressed elegantly and loved to wear jewellery. Her eyelashes were curled and she had a constant smile on her lovely face. Aphrodite had a tender neck and symbolized the feminine beauty. Aphrodite's appearance changed constantly. "She couldn't decide the color of her eyes, or the exact color of her hair. Aphrodite is consistently portrayed, in ever image and story, as having had no childhood, and instead being born as a nubile, infinitely desirable adult. She is often depicted nude. In many of the later myths, she is portrayed as vain, ill-tempered and easily.
