Growing up in a small town has its perks, but with those perks comes a lot of well not so perks. Lilith Aiden Williams knew all about small towns. She knew about how everyone knew everyone and that no matter how hard you tried word got around and it got around to every single person meaning absolutely nothing you had was private. Lilith or more commonly know as Lilly was born in a neighboring town Horseshire but as a baby was placed into foster care which had her shipped around from the day she entered the world. Lilly had lived quite a few places but settled on Mount Wells at the ripe age of 11. Mount wells was a small town in the outback of Australia. Nobody ever visited only ever passed through so the only people Lilly ever encountered were the fellow citizens of Mount wells so it's not surprising no one wanted anything to do with the foster kid. No one ever said anything to her face but the looks and whispers were enough to make her steer clear of any and everybody. Lilly was like any other 15 year old girl she had the same issues to worry about school, periods boobs the usual except most 15 year old girls had parents, had a family, they knew where they came from. They knew their family tree, their aunts and uncles and cousins would all go to their grandparents every Christmas. They knew when their actual birthday was not one that was guessed for them. They had someone to teach them things like riding a bike or too kiss their booboos when they fell off the bike. Lilly didn't miss those things mostly because she didn't know what they were like to miss but she knew she was meant to have that stuff, what her life should of been. She often daydreamed about her parents keeping her, wanting her. What it would be like, would they or are they good people, good parents even. Lilly had foster parents, Melissa and Anthony furbes. Melissa was a nurse at the medical clinic while Anthony worked at the bank as the manager. They had a son and daughter, Elijah who was 16 and Penelope who was 10. Lilly didn't hate her adopted family but she didn't feel at home with them either.
It was an early Monday morning and Lilly awoke to the sound of her alarm piercing her ears. She shot up right and went in search for the electric device to silence the deafening screech. The phone told her it was 7am, time to start getting ready for school. She didn't love school but at least her best and only friend would be there. She swung her feet off the bed whipping the sleep from her delicate eyes. Lilly is a beautiful girl, she barely reached 5ft she had long brown hair but not the super dark brown of chocolate more like a light brown with natural highlights from the constant ruthless Australian sun. Her hair reached to the bottom of her elbows. She liked it this length, people always complimented it. She had these bright blue eyes that bore into you, covered with long eyelashes. She was sun kissed an olive completion that made her eyes pop even more.
Lilly walked to the bathroom ready to start her morning routine but was locked out. She banged her fist against the hardwood. A deep voice called out from from inside the bathroom "busy here!"
"Hurry up Elijah I need to shower!" Lily screeched back. She couldn't be late back on the first day and she wanted to meet Aurora her best friend.
"So do I! I'll be done soon!" Elijah yelled back his voice a little hard to make out over the sounds of the shower.
Lilly slid her back down the wall facing the door waiting for him to be done. She took the time to check her phone only a message from Aurora quadruple checking she was coming to school today after Lilly sent her a reassuring text she logged into her chatme account. No one apart from her family and Aurora paid much attention to Lilly let alone hold a conversation with her so she found comfort in talking to people online. People that got her, they didn't know her as the freak only as Mia. Mia was the person Lilly hoped to be. Just as she was sucked into her virtual world Elijah emerged from the bathroom towel around his waist. Elijah was a heartthrob in high school, known for his luck with girls. Elijah was perfect in literally anything he tried. He much like his parents had dark features dark brown hair formed in an effortless plop on his head slightly curly in just the right spots, his dark brown eyes an endless orb that displayed so much emotion with a single look. He had a rather muscular body that took no effort to maintain.
"About time." Lilly grumbled as she shoved past him into the steam filled room. Water puddle the entire bathroom floor. Obviously Elijah made no effort to put a towel or mat down. Lilly locked the door behind for some guaranteed privacy. She slid off all her clothes and put them in the hamper. She had to remember to do the laundry after school today. She stepped into the shower and turned the water to near on boiling instantly waking her up completely.
It had been nearly 30 mins by the time she got out. She dried off and changed into her school uniform.
Being from a small town meant everything was years behind the rest of the world including their views on religion so therefore Lilly attended a catholic school along with the other 457 kids of the town. Her uniform reflected just how behind in times they were she wore a white button up tucked into a mouse grey pleated skirt that stopped just shy of her knees but only an inch between her skirt and knee high socks covered with black leather shoes. She wore a blue and red tie with her school logo in the middle. Lilly had a grey jacket that covered entirely too much in her opinion and a grey hat with the blue and red ribbon not that she ever wore the hat. She went back to the room she shared with Penelope it was a rather big room but the 2 beds filled most of the space. Lilly walked to her side to slip on her necklace it was a silver snack wrapped around a green diamond as if trying to protect it. The necklace fell just above her breast hidden by the high collar of her shirt." your not meant to wear that." Nagged Penelope.
"Well it'll be our little secret then"
"I won't lie"
"Don't lie just don't tell anyone" she left the room before Penelope could respond.
