- chapter eight -
the case of wakanda,
research and is this edited? idk.earth air and spheria air was completely different.
that was the first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings. I coughed a few times to allow my lungs to get used to earth's pollution, jesus, I didn't know the air was this bad.
the second thing I had to get used to was the light that selene flicked on. I was laying in a bed, my arms were to my side with all types of wires connected to me. I had absolutely no idea where I was, I was in a hoodie and sweatpants and the room smelled extremely clean and like a hospital.
the room was dark though, black walls, black counters and the bed that I laid in was a dark maroon color but was definitely a hospital bed from the railings and buttons.
I pulled the wires from arms roughly letting the hoodie sleeves fall over my arm to soak up the blood that came from the iv sites.
"where are we?" I asked getting out of bed watching a paper fall out of my hoodie pocket, I glanced at it before picking it up shoving it back in my pocket.
we had to haul our asses out of here immediately.
"wakanda, well more like ghost town since thanos," selene said as I looked around the room. I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror almost throwing up, I looked like a zombie. my eyes had bags under them, my curly hair was all over my head messily and my outfit was baggy and made me look like a bum.
my eyes bounced over to selene who looked completely normal. "you couldn't have worked some magic to make me look normal and not like i've been sleeping for eight years?" I mumbled rolling my eyes. "I mean. . .you kinda were," she remarked as I noticed a rubber band on my wrist so I used it to pull my hair in the messiest bun ever with curls poking out everywhere.
I turned around to face her yawning, "alright so, we gotta find a plane or jet and get the fuck out of this..wakanda, then I'll try and contact someone I know."
selene nodded handing me a backpack before smiling, "we're back risking our lives to do missions."
a laugh passed through my lips smiling, I took the back looking inside seeing the suit that I was wearing the day I passed out, my phone, my wallet and a bunch envelopes.
weird.
I threw the backpack on over one shoulder, smiling. it was good to be back, now the gears in my head were moving and fast. "come on, we gotta move fast, there has to be someone still in new york," I said walking to the door peeking out into the hallway that was completely deserted.
my socks that had grippers on the bottom made a sticking noise with every step I took with selene trailing closely behind me. the long corridor like hallway opened up into a lobby that was equally as quietly.
"let's go right, it leads outside," selene stated grabbing my hand to pull me in the right direction. we walked through a set of automatic doors and the blazing sun immediately hit me. it was as hot as the inside of recently baked pizza rolls, "where the fuck are we? arizona?"
selene laughed shaking her head, "we're in the motherland girl, wakanda is this like a advanced civilization, way more advanced than stark."
I nodded tilting my head to the side in confusion. why hadn't I heard about this place before? "it was until the late and recent king t'challa that wakanda was open to the public," selene explained approaching the eye sore that was a quinjet in the middle of the grassy plains of wakanda.
