You clicked send on the email and yawned. Hopefully Fletcher would see the photo Mikasa took. You looked at your watch; ten o'clock.

"Bedtime." you said, shutting your laptop.

Just as you were getting ready for bed, your phone rang. You answered it.

"This is (Name)(Last), how may I he--"

"(NAME)! Thank god your still awake!" it was Eren.

"Eren? What's wrong?" you asked.

"That thing is back, it tried to get in my house, and it looked pissed!" he said, his voice quivering with fear.

"Okay, okay, calm down, are you hurt?" you asked.

"N-No, but I'm really shaken up..." he said,"C-Can you stay the night?"

You blinked, then smirked,"Yes, I'll come and protect you."

"I-I don't need protecting, j-just reassurance!" then he hung up.

You smiled and packed your things.

Later

You stepped out of your car and stopped. The screen door from Eren's house was lying in the front lawn, torn and completely useless. The front door had long, deep scratch marks on it, like something was trying to break it down. You looked around you. There were no neighbors who could've seen this...

You knocked on the door and waited. Running footsteps ran over, the door flung open, and you were quickly yanked inside.

"Was it out there?!" he asked worriedly, peeking out the blinds.

"No, but your screen door is kaput." you said, setting your bag down,"Where can I sleep?"

"Well, the thing tried to get in my room through the back door...I'm scared it'll come back..." he said, blushing from embarrassment.

You smiled and pat his head,"I'll check it out."

You walked into his room and saw a big, gaping hole in the glass door. Your mouth dropped in shock.

"He, s-stuck his head--" you said, pointing at the hole.

"Yep...And hissed at me." he said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Hissed, at you?" you repeated, surveying the hole, where you saw blood around the jagged edges,"Jesus, it cut itself..."

"So?"

"So, more DNA samples." you grinned at Eren.

"Okay well...you can stay in here, I'm sleeping on the couching tonight." he said, grabbing his pillows off his bed.

"First, let's board up this door, so if it comes back, it can't get through." you said.

"Right, smart.." he nodded, running off to get his power tools.

You spent the next thirty minutes boarding up the whole door. You screwed in another screw and put down the screw driver.

"Done, now you can sleep in here." you said.

"But what if it breaks through?" Eren asked.

"I came prepared for that." you said, pulling a handheld tranquilizer gun out of your hoodie pocket.

"You're going to kill it?!" Eren freaked.

"No! Absolutely not, this a tranquilizer gun!" you said, polishing the gun with your sleeve,"I want to study it, alive. No way am I killing such a fascinating creature."
