Eight period Brian and I sit next to each other. We had two other classes together besides this one and first and the most he's gotten out of me is my name, that I'm 15, that I hate global and this town and all these fake bitches and that I used to love math, science and baking/cooking. As for him I've learned that his full name is Brian James Alexander, he loves poetry, science, English and is way more positive then I am. I also learned he moved here to New York from Florida and has one younger sister named Adalaid and a German Shepard named smiles (who I've already heard like 5 stories about)
"You seem very introverted, very closed in." Brian says to me as we wait for the bell to ring.
"Maybe cuz I am." I shrug and pull out my Spanish notebook and folder.
"You know it's harder to meet people that way." He glances at me.
"I've met plenty of people and most of them I could have been happier not meeting."
"Wow."
"What? Look maybe you think I sound like a bitch, but you know what that's because I am. At least I'm not fake and act like I'm all sweet and shit."
He stares at me for a moment before saying, "You're not a bitch, you're opinionated which is a good quality to have and you've obviously been hurt and more then once, but you are not a bitch."
We stare at each other as the bell rings starting class. "Thanks." I say finally.
"Are you doing anything after school?" Brian whispers as the teacher continues her boring power point on adjectives.
"Why?"
"So we can make out and I can grab your ass."
"Excuse me?!"
He laughs, "I'm just messing with you I figured you thought that's what I wanted to do."
I stare at him carefully with his goofy grin.
"So?" He pesters.
"No I'm not doing anything." I say finally.
"Awesome. I hear New York pizza is amazing, down in Florida our Pisa kinda sucks."
"I shall take you to my favorite pizzeria."
"It's a date."
"No."
"Relax, I mean a friend date."
"A friend date..." I recite and then feel a small smile creep onto my face.
"Hey that's the first time I've seen you smile. I like it."
"That's cuz it was the first in a long time."
