Cries filled the room as the baby was placed in Marion's arms and Gregory stood next to her, examining the child. "Is the child one of us?" He spoke in a monotone voice, face expressionless.

The doctor glanced at his alpha, "We will not know for sure until she is older, but I am certain that she is fully human. That spell worked."

"It better have, otherwise you and Warren will be paying for it." Gregory glared with pitch black eyes at Joseph before leaving the room without looking at his daughter.

Marion's eyes filled with tears and she sadly looked at Joseph, her daughter now calmed down and laying still. "Joseph, if she does end up like us,...please don't let her die a painful death, and don't make her suffer. She's just a child, she doesn't deserve to know what death feels like yet..." She looked down at her own flesh and blood, knowing that letting her live as one of them would lead to danger for all of them.

"Of course, Marion." Joseph bowed his head in respect.

"Take her away, I can't grow too attatched to her before she ends up like us and Gregory orders her to be killed." Marion looked away and Joseph took the baby out of her arms, taking her out of the room.

That night when the alphas and their other daughter, Erissa, and their son, Jason, were seated in their living room deciding on a name for their new child, Warren walked in front of the doorway and watched attentively so that he would know more about the new child. Jason, who was two, almost three years old and Erissa who was six years old, were trying to get better looks at their new sister as she laid in her parents' arms.

"Can I hold her?" Jason asked while trying to grab her.

"Alright, just don't drop her though." Marion said in a happy but slightly worried voice.

The baby girl opened her eyes and they revealed bright hazel eyes that looked like amber. "Her eyes look like the stuff that covers bugs, um,...amber! Can we call her that?" Jason looked up at his parents with hopeful eyes as they let out a slight laugh.

"Of course, tomorrow, we will tell everyone that Amber is a part of this world now." Marion rubbed Jason's head, messing up his hair and smiling as wide as she could. "But I think that it's time to put her to bed now. Would you like to help me?"

"Yeah!" Jason jumped up and down, careful not to drop his little sister. "Let's go!"

Marion laughed and got up from her seat, going after Jason who was running up the stairs to his new sister's bedroom. Once they reached it, Marion took Amber from his arms and put her down in the crib. Jason instantly reached over the side and looked down at his sister, who lifted her arm up and grabbed one of his fingers in her tiny little hand. Her mother gazed upon her new daughter with worry and sadness, Amber was not supposed to be strong enough to do that yet as a human. Amber was not human, and that meant that the spell didn't work and that Gregory would want her dead for being a werewolf just like them.

"Jason, come on, it's time for bed for you too." She grabbed Jason's other hand and led him to his bedroom where she tucked him in and kissed him goodnight before going straight to her and her mate's room.

"I hope that she's not a werewolf. If she isn't completely human, then we will have to kill her to fufill what we need to. We can't endanger everyone by having them be like us. You still understand, right?" Gregory embraced his mate and softly kissed her lips.

"Yes, I do,...but still, she's our child, we shouldn't have to kill her or any of our future children if they're not human." A tear slid down her cheek while a sigh slipped past her lips. "Let's just go to bed, I'm tired,...goodnight."
