It was cold, I couldn't see anything, and I felt weighted down and light all at once. When my eyes opened, I could see the distorted dark area just outside. There was a mask wrapped carefully and, tightly around my face, and a soft light; which seemed to be dying out glowed from the bottom. The cylinder surrounding me seemed to be tight enough so I could only move a little, and lose enough so I could fit inside it. I looked up, and couldn't see the top, but I saw a flash of... Ears? I didn't have time to think about this, so I thought of all my options. I placed my- paws? On the tube in front of me. The glass was strong, and it would take immense force to break it. I thought about what I could do right now to remedy my current state. I was trapped in a tube filled with liquid, and a mask providing me oxygen. I couldn't tell how I got here, or why I was a black animal, but I decided to take it in stride. I looked down past the tube that connected to my mask and saw 2 rabbit like feet. I was more confused than ever, but I didn't have time to question it, if I wanted to get out quickly. I shook my head, coming back to the stasis tube I was in; I started to see exactly how much space there was in my current prison. After guessing that the diameter was about right for my plan, I tried to carefully plant my back against what I assumed was the back of the cylinder. After that I tried to pull my body into a ball, where my knees were at my chest, and my feet were primed to kick as hard as possible. Even though I struggled with this process for about 20 mins, I finally managed to get into the position where I felt the most confident. I counted down from 3 in my head before kicking the glass as hard as possible. Though the impact hurt my feet, the glass shattered destroying my breathing tube, and allowing me to easily remove the mask. "Well then," My voice rasped out,"Now that that's settled, when and how did this all happen?"
I limped lightly, trying to pull one, if any, memories out. I needed an explanation. I knew I had been placed inside that thing, but I didn't know why I hadn't been more afraid. I was just, so unsure, confused, and-! "W-wha-! I-is that me?!?!?!?" I exclaimed seeing my reflection staring back at me.
A pure black bunny like being stared back, and a skull shape was overlaid on my face, the ears seemed almost like ribbons of grey. I turned in front of the broken mirror in the warehouse, I was trying to find anything I would recognize as me, but nothing. "W-why- can't I remember anything?" I asked, my voice still raspy from lack of use.
I tried to find anything I recognized, but came up empty. All I could remember, was that I had been human before. I was on the verge of tears, when I saw something that made me hopeful. It looked like something that might get me answers in the future. A silver, glassy, elegant, flower pin, it had to belong to one of the people who brought me here. I pocketed the pin and looked once again in the shattered mirror. I was wearing light grey clothing, and a small patch read the words, 'Bun Bun'. "Well," I said,"That might not have been my name originally, but I can go by that for now."
I took a look around, and then decided to leave the place altogether. I didn't have anything else I could find here, so I didn't try. My feet were near silent, and I started to head out the back when I heard the scream of a young girl. "Get away from me!" She cried.
I turned back towards the sounds of growls, inhuman laughter, and the child's scared whimpers. I didn't know why, I just did, though; it didn't make sense to me at the time.
My new legs were much faster than my old ones, they thudded against the ground, and I still felt like I stumbling over them. The corner came into view quickly, and the sounds got louder. I skidded to a halt, and saw monstorous creatures towering over a girl who couldn't have been older than 5. My gaze was bouncing around, I couldn't just leave her there. Those Ghouls were going to kill her, and I couldn't let that happen! "Come on!" I mumbled worriedly, my rabbit foot thumping audibly on the concrete.
My eyes landed upon an old sword hilt. I thought I might be able to throw it, and gain their attention, so the girl could run. Before I could throw the old blade handle, it glowed in my hand, and a blade shot out of it. I froze, feeling the gazes of the girl, and monsters shift towards me. I lifted my gaze from the newly formed blade, when I heard one of the creatures charging me. I swung without thinking, and the Ghouls head came off, as it turned to black dust. "Run!" I demanded the girl, causing her to bolt, as the other Ghouls to charge me in agitation.
I heard the girls feet as she left, kicking gravel as she left. Those foot falls echoed in my mind, as I swung the blade, & fought. I screamed, swinging the blade quickly, and killing them one at a time. Their black dust blew in the wind, and I spun out of the way of their attacks before striking with the sword. By the time the fight was over, I felt worn out. I took in labored breaths, trying to regain my energy after the fight. I placed the blade beside me, and carefully pulled out the flower pin. As I stared at it, a name came to mind, like it had been the name I had once been known by. "Ciara..." I mumbled,"Well then, that's appropriate."
That was the only thing I could remember, and it gave me a resolve. "I will find out what happened to me," I promised myself,"And, if I can, I'll destroy monsters, and save people along the way."
This became my cause, and I have never let it go.
