What does it mean to be yourself?
I've always asked this to myself
Never really got the chance to explore
I only imagined how I'd be if I had open doorsMy eyes widened and my heart filled with awe
Everytime I read of someone, real or not
Who wasn't afraid to show they're odd
That is the kind of courage I soughtAnd then fate brought me to you
But just like with everyone else
I continued to be scared to be myself
Around you, I tried to be too goodBut you helped me unwind
It wasn't easy and it took time
We even had some fights
But I guess I needed a jolt to my mind
After all, a spark is needed to start a fireSome people are lucky for they know who they are
Right from the very start
Some are luckier for they figure it out
All by themselves, without a shred of doubt
But I believe I'm the luckiest, for along with my true self
I also found my other halfSo I found my true self
It's a little crazy
Likes unusual stuff
Has rare hobbiesLikes to take risks
Is a bit of an introvert
Finds it hard to get around new people
But once she gets familiar with someone she likes, she might even be an extrovertSo... That's me...
A me that was hidden
But you brought to light
Just like a diamond
That needs to be cut in the right way
Before it can shine

PoetryPoems are like drawings - both reveal thoughts and feelings...the only difference is that drawings use strokes of brushes or pencils while poems use the strokes of words...
