Chapter 11: Shadow's Birthday

[NARRATOR'S POV]

         Shadow came home one day to be scared by Sonic. 

Sonic: "Happy birthday Shadow!"

Shadow: "Jesus christ Sonic?!"

Sonic: "I got you a gift!"

        Sonic patted Shadow's back and handed them the gift. Shadow opened it and there lay two tickets in his hand. 

Shadow: "What's this?"

Sonic: "Read them!"

        Shadow read them. His jaw dropped and he screamed.

Shadow: "TICKETS TO HAWAII? HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THIS MONEY?!"

Sonic: "Work! I'm the manager and got a big salary! I thought I would spend it on a vacation for you and I."

          Shadow hugged Sonic tightly. He had always wanted to go to Hawaii. It was the number one thing on his bucket list. 

Shadow: "When are we leaving?"

Sonic: "Tonight!!"

Shadow: "We have to get packing then."

Sonic: "Right!"

         Both hedgehogs packed their things. Amy drove them to the airport and waved goodbye to them when they left the car. She smiled and drove away. Sonic and Shadow got onto the plane and settled into their seats. They were on the plane for 5 hours and 40 minutes. Finally they arrived. They got off the plane, grabbed their luggage and ordered a Lyft. 

         After the Lyft came, they got in and headed towards their rented hotel. They checked in at the hotel and went up to their room. Shadow was filled with disbelief when he saw the room. It was like a mansion! He smiled and took a tour of the room. 

Shadow: "And how much was this room?"

Sonic: "It was one of the cheapest things here!"

Shadow: "Really? There's something better than this?"

Sonic: "Apparently.."

Shadow: "Well, I'm happy with what I got."

Sonic: "I'm glad!" Sonic yelped with joy. Later they went to a restaurant to celebrate Shadow's birthday. When they returned to their room, they decided to get down dirty. Afterwords, both fell asleep calmly. 

       The next morning, they went for a dip on the nice cold pool. Shadow was having a wonderful time with his partner. They spent their time walking around, buying souvenirs, and splashing in the ocean. Sonic couldn't think of a better way to spend time with Shadow. Sadly, after a week had passed, they had to go back home where they lived. 

Sonic: "Enjoyed your trip?"

Shadow: "Are you kidding? I loved it!"

Sonic: "So did I!" They both chuckled. On the plane they looked at all the photos they took together. When they got back, they decided to buy a photo album to secure their precious memories together.

        Sonic bought a black and blue book to store their pictures in. He labeled the font of the book, "Lovely Memories" with a red sharpie. Shadow smiled and hugged Sonic. He was glad to spend the rest of his life with the hedgehog he hated at first...
