Sunday ; 7:30 am

Beep! Beep! Beep!

the alarm on my phone screamed at me to wake up from my peaceful sleep.

"aghhhh..." i groan, turning my body over to turn off the horrendous noise. I lazily tap the 'stop' button on my screen and sit up, still half asleep.

i rub my eyes to get rid of any sleep that was left behind and let out a tired sigh. 'today should be fun,' i thought to myself as i crawled put of my bed and got ready to begin my day.

after finishing my morning routine of : washing my face, brushing my teeth, changing my clothes, making breakfast and scrolling through a few quality memes, i was able to walk out of my door and head to my workplace.

i drove to the familiar building that i have learned to love over the few months that ive been working here. it was a small coffee shop in the plaza where there was a shopping mall, grocery store, and movie theater. it was sorta like a small little world.

i walked into the welcoming doors of the coffee shop, the bittersweet aroma of coffee beans mixed with baked goods filled the air. i smiled at the comforting scent that i loved so dearly.

my boss, Soo Yun, strided happily toward me holding my apron in her hands.

"finally, you're here! i thought you were gonna oversleep and miss your shift!" she said, relieved.

Soo Yun has been my closest friend since before we could even write our own names. we've been by each other's side through just about anything and she's actually the one who got me through high school without dying. to be honest, i dont know where I'd be without her.

"c'mon!" i groaned playfully, "i promised you that i wouldn't do that again. pinky promised!" i held up my pinky to her face and she giggled happily.

"it's fine, y/n." she said with a sincere smile, "i know how committed you are to this job, i know you'll take your job seriously."

she held up her hand to the side of her mouth as if she was hiding it, "unlike 'mr. eats all of the cake pops in the breakroom' over there." she whispered with a playful smile as she pointed to Jeongguk, a high school student who just began working here.

"I HEARD THAT." his voice was muffled by the walls of the shop, but we could still hear the annoyance in his statement.

"jesus, i swear that boy has the ears of a rabbit." Soo Yun muttered under her breath.

"anyways, here," she handed me my apron and flashed me a bright smile, "duty calls!" she exclaimed.

"hehe, duty." we heard Jeongguk giggle from the counter and Soo Yun rolled her eyes and smirked at the boy.

"yeah, and if you don't get to work, your duty will be janitor." she threatened him and he immediately muttered a small "yes, ma'am" and went back to the drive thru window to take orders.

i laughed at the boy's child-like behavior, "he's like a 8 year-old trapped in a high schooler's body," i stated as i began to put on my apron and stood behind the counter.

"more like a 5 year-old," she sighed, "but, he's a good kid, he's got a bright future ahead of him."

"how can you tell?"

"i just know."

after my shift was over i decided to make myself a cup of coffee myself. an iced caramel macchiato, to be exact. i pick up two cookies as well to go along with my bittersweet drink, one chocolate chip and the other sugar.

i reached into my bag that i brought with me and grabbed my laptop. i began to look over my notes for my classes, having to re-read the geometry ones a few times.

college isn't really terrible. it was better than high school, but its kinda awkward during the first few weeks. my school stated about 6 days ago and everyone's really quiet and normal and no one really tries to talk to me except Soo Yun.

but..

there is this one guy who keeps on catching my eye for some reason..
