Part 1 ~ Hey Sweetie

As you enter the doors of Boring High, you can't help but feel exhausted already. It's the first day of Sophomore year and there was not much to look forward to.

You noticed Kate rushing into the principal's office, her dad's office.

You had been close friends with Kate since her mom had passed, since then everyone seemed to think she was a freak, but you never agreed. She had recently told you she thought she liked girls at one of your sleepovers, of course you had reassured her everything was okay as you wiped the tears off her face and held her all night to the sound of the tv playing in the background.
In the morning you had also confessed you liked girls, and just went back to laughing and goofing off.
You hoped this year would be better for her, since last year Emaline would occasionally pick on her.

Emaline. Beautiful sweet Emaline. You hated that she made your insides melt. But she did. She was just so perfect. Her smile, and her laugh. Oh, her laugh was so mesmerizing. You knew she'd never feel the same, she had a boyfriend for fucks sake. Oliver, he seemed like the biggest asshole to her. And she seemed like the biggest asshole to everyone else. You just couldn't comprehend how such a beautiful creature could hold so much anger. She was always getting into trouble over petty shit. However, you could tell it was all an act. Just another act of hers. She always had her little sparkling moments where you saw who she truly was. You'd seen her be kind to the lunch ladies, and she always seemed to say "please" and "thank you" with the sweetest voice. Your favorite of all was last year, when you had a little breakdown in the crowded bathroom. When she saw you her eyes looked sad, she took you into a hall that was almost always empty and she just hugged you and stayed with you until you felt better(even tho you were both late to the following period/class). However, you always felt guilty when you'd speak to her, due to her being so mean to Kate. You just didn't know why she felt the need to be a different person around everyone at school.

You hurriedly put the textbooks that weren't needed from your backpack and into your locker as you heard the warning bell ring. Just as you were going to close your locker, someone did it for you. You jumped at the slamming sound and turned to see who it was. Emaline.
She softly smiled, "Hey sweetie, did you finish the summer homework?"
You were confused and speechless. Emaline had never really spoken to you outside of your classes, but she also wasn't mean to you as she was to Kate.
"Umm n no" you heard your voice come out quiet.
"Aww, that's too bad, heard teachers were giving pop quizzes on it", she softly laughed as she turned and headed to class.
You watched her leave, mesmerized and confused all together.
As you remembered the warning bell had already rung, you sprinted towards the A/V Club.
