Dallas was a 19 year old hairstylist that has recently moved to London for a job opportunity that she felt like she would be a fool to pass up. A couple weeks ago her boss Jay pulled her into his office and told her that there was a stylist in London that has seen her work through twitter and Instagram and was dying to have her come to the UK and work with her. She was a stylist for some musicians and needed some help.

When Jay had explained this along with all the questions Dallas felt like needed to be answered before she agreed; she was on her way home to have a conversation with her mom and get her thoughts. Dallas and her mom have always been close, her mother has always supported what she wanted to do for a living and still let Dallas live under her roof until she was ready to be on her own.

I finally rushed home and ran to open the front door banging it against the wall, I cringed not realizing my own strength. I checked to make sure there was no hole before I started yelling to find where my mom was, "Mom? Are you here?"

"In the kitchen Dal" my mom hollered back. I kicked my shoes off and walked through the living room to get to my mom.

I had braided my ombre hair into french pigtails to keep it out of the way after work. I always felt like it looked childish but for some reason it was the quickest solution at the moment.

When i finally reached the kitchen my mom was just washing her hands, I'm assuming she just finished the dishes because I always did the same thing.

"Hey Sweetie, you are home early? Everything okay?" My said as she looked at me over her shoulder. I looked very similar to my mom except her hair was still natural. She had long dark hair with brown eyes, and natural tanned skin. She wasn't a tall woman either. Her curves hit her all in the right places as well. I also wasn't a tall woman but was much slimmer then her. I had dark brown hair that was blonde from half way to the ends; Brown eyes and tanned skin.

"Yeah, everything is great actually. I had a meeting with Jay today and told me about this job he wants me to take." I told my mother all in one breath. "That's great sweetie, did you accept it?" My mom smiled at me. I didn't know how she was going to take this. I have never been this far away from my mom. I didn't even move away when I went to hair school.

"Umm...about that. It's in England." I rushed out praying she will take this well. I held my breath waiting for her reaction.

"Oh! England? Like the UK England?" My mom responded shock laced in her voice. I couldn't find my voice to respond so I just nodded. "Wow, well that is great Dallas. Are you going to do it?" Wow she took it better then I thought. "I wanted to talk to you first before I gave Jay my decision. My mother nodded and gestured to the kitchen table. "Then let's sit and talk about this."

Long story short, i explained everything I was told from the stylist who saw my work and wanted me in the UK, to when I would leave, where I'd live. We must have sat there for hours but, in the end we both agreed that I'd be crazy not to take this opportunity and i had called Jay to give me my answer. He was thrilled but made it clear that he was going to miss around the shop but was very happy for me.

I only had a week to get ready for this move, Jay had given Louise my contact info so we had chatted about the details more so except she refused to tell me what musicians she works with. She told me that it was going to be a surprise and she was determined to not cave in. I really liked Lou; since we first got into contact we continued texting back and forth. She said that she was going to be the one picking me up at the airport on Saturday morning which was tomorrow.

I had just arrived at the airport in LA where I was born and raised. My mom and I had got here a couple hours ago and were just waiting for my flight to be called. It was probably one of the most emotional days in a long time. We had a really nice dinner last night and my mom started telling me how proud she was with what I have accomplished and how she couldn't wait to see what would come next for me. I woke up this morning and looked around my bare room and couldn't help shedding some more tears. I haven't ever been away from this room let alone this house. I was raised in the same house; there were so many memories that flew through my memory.

When I finally gathered my emotions; my mom and I went out to breakfast and probably sat at the diner for a good three hours before I had to head to the airport. My goodbye to my mom was quick since we are both horrible with them. She squeezed me so tight when I hugged her and continued to tell me how much she loved me and that I better call or text her as much as I can and to also send her as many pictures that I can.

I finally got on the plane and settled down quickly; after the flight attendants gave the normal safety speech. I plugged my earbuds into my ears with Ed Sheeran's playlist and dozed off quickly.
