To say Ten was stressed would be a major understatement. His boss had called him early this morning claiming that even though it was his first day off in forever, there was an emergency and he needed to come in. Needless to say he was not happy about that.

Of course while Ten was rushing to get ready for work while firing off complaints about his job, Hendery was there trying to calm him down. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts Ten still left for work angry.

Since it was early when Ten left, Hendery had gone back to bed. Now that he was awake again, he was trying to figure out what he could do to help Ten. It's not like he could just magically make the other boys job better so he'd just have to make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible when Ten got home.

His first instinct was to get all the things Ten liked together. Food. He likes food but what kind of food. Hendery thought as he stood in the kitchen opening random cabinets for ideas. His random search led him to a box of cake mix. Cake! Of course, he loves cake. He stared at the box of cake mix for a while before putting it back in the cabinet. If I'm going to make him a cake I'm going to make it right.

Since Hendery didn't really know what he was doing with the whole making a cake from scratch thing, he decided to get some help. Figuring she would know both what Ten likes and how to make a good cake, Hendery called Ten's mom.

"Hello? Hendery, is everything alright? You never call." Ten's mother spoke with concern.

"Yeah, everything is okay, but I need your help with something."

"Of course, what do you need, dear?"

"Ten's been super stressed and I want to help him relax, so I plan on making him a cake but I realized I don't know what kind he likes of even how you make a cake."

"Okay, get something to write with. I'll tell you everything you need to know."

Hendery quickly copied down everything the woman said he would need. We definitely don't have any of this stuff here. Hendery thought, stuffing the paper into his pocket and starting his trek to the store.

After a struggle with finding and choosing the right ingredients he was on his way back home. Once he got there, he began combining the ingredients like Ten's mother had to him to. He poured the batter into a pan and set the cake to bake in the oven, trying to decide what else he should do.

Maybe we can just lay around and watch movies Hendery thought as he knew Ten also loved to just lay down on the couch and relax sometimes. His idea eventually evolved from watching a movie on the couch to using the fold out bed that was built into the couch and filling it with a bunch of pillows and blankets to create a soft little haven of warmth and comfort.

Hendery went to take the cake out of the oven before starting on his next mission. He went searching through their closet to find all the extra pillows and blankets they had proceeding to lay them out on the fold out bed. Deciding that you can never make something too comfortable, he also decided to add the blankets and pillows from their bed to the pile he assembled. Okay that's done. Hendery thought, smiling to himself before a notification from his phone got his attention.

I'm just leaving work now, I'll be home soon.

Okay, drive safe ❤️

He realized that Ten would be home in roughly 20 minutes and he still needs to ice the cake. He rushed to the kitchen and got the icing, preparing to put it on the cake. He's going to be here soon but I still I need to take my time on this, I don't want it to look all sloppy he thought. He started icing the cake with laser focus so he wouldn't mess anything up. He managed to finish it in time and let out a sigh of relief.

Suddenly he heard a car pull into the driveway outside. He went into panic mode again trying to make sure everything was right before Ten came inside. With everything in place he turned the TV on and sat down, waiting for Ten to walk in.

"I'm home." Ten shouted as he walked in the house. "Woah, why is every blanket we own on the couch?"

"It's a surprise for you." Hendery grinned at the shorter man. "You needed to relax so I figured we could just lay in here and watch movies tonight. Oh wait I have something else." Hendery ran to their kitchen to fetch the cake that he was incredibly proud to present to his boyfriend.

"I made you your favorite cake!"

"Hen, you didn't need to do this, but thank you."

"You're welcome, now hurry up and change clothes so we can watch movies."

Ten came back a few minutes later and they ended up huddled together in their mountain of blanket and pillows, eating way too much cake. They both agreed on watching a classic, Titanic, while enjoying their evening together.

As the evening came to a close, Ten spoke up again. "Thank you for doing all of this, Hen. I couldn't imagine a better boyfriend than you."

"You don't need to thank me for this. I did this because I love you." Hendery announced with a new found burst of confidence.

It took Ten a moment to respond, after all that was the first time Hendery had told him that he loves him. "I love you too, Hendery." He smiled back at the younger man. Ten closed the distance between them with a gentle but passionate kiss. They stayed together like that until the two eventually fell asleep in each other's arms, wrapped tight in their mess of blankets.
