December 1984 - Hawaii

"Babe? Babe..wake up!"

Janie felt a hand on her now sunburned shoulder.

"Ow! Jesus, not so hard!" she swatted Nikki's hand away, sitting up on her lounge chair.

"I told you not to fall asleep out here," Nikki smirked, "your back is as red as your Ferrari!"

He bit his lip, trying to suppress the laughter as Janie glared at him.

"Well why didn't you wake me up then asshole?"

"I had gone back to the room, assuming you were gonna follow me. I took a nap like a smart person, you know out of the direct sunlight."

Janie groaned as she stood up, "Oh fuck, this really hurts."

"Come on," Nikki picked up her towel and her bag, handing both to her, "let's go find you some aloe."

They trekked back up the beach to their hotel. With nearly a two week break in the tour schedule, Nikki and Janie had decided to take a last minute vacation to Oahu. To get some alone time which, as Janie had put it, had eluded them for most of the tour. Everything about Hawaii was incredible. The food, the landscape, the culture, Janie had never seen a place so beautiful in all her life. For the last week she and Nikki had spent their days laying on the beach, exploring the island, and eating so well they thought they might burst. They were headed home the day after tomorrow, and while Janie was excited to see Joanna, Steve & Lucy, she knew it wouldn't be long before they hit the road again. Luckily, there were only about three weeks worth of dates left on tour. Then they'd at least be home for the foreseeable future.

Janie went straight back to the room for a shower, in hopes that some cool water might alleviate the stinging hot skin on her back. Nikki meanwhile headed towards the hotel gift shop in search of some aloe.

The door to their hotel room opened just as Janie stepped out of the shower.

"Did you find some aloe?" she called through the bathroom door.

"Yeah!" Nikki answered.

Once she had carefully dried herself off, Janie wrapped the towel around herself and walked out into the room.

"C'mere." Nikki sat on the bed, motioning for her to join him.

Sitting between his legs, Janie let the towel slip down her body.

"Boy," Nikki whistled, "you got burned bad."

She turned back to him, raising an eyebrow, "Yes yes, I get it I'm an idiot. Would you please just put the aloe on? I'm dying here."

"Alright alright." Nikki laughed.

After she'd pulled her hair out of the way, he squeezed a generous amount of aloe over her shoulders and gingerly rubbed his hands over the angry, red skin on her back. Janie felt the relief the aloe brought almost immediately. Nikki's hands grasped her arms lightly as his lips blew cool air over her tender skin, sending chills down her spine. She shivered against his touch, the skin of her back and arms igniting with goosebumps.

"Better?" he whispered against her skin.

"Hm, much." she hummed, a relieved smile on her face.

"You still wanna go out for dinner tonight or should we stay in and get room service?" Nikki asked her, his fingers still brushing lightly against her shoulders.

"No, let's go out," she insisted, "we're gonna be in tomorrow night packing anyways."

Janie rose from the bed, returning to the bathroom to get herself ready for dinner. She emerged a short while later, her wavy hair pulled up in a loose bun, a simple black sundress clung to her body.
