Was it just me or did this guy give off a strange aura? Almost as he was the embodiment of a black hole sucking everything in. I wanted to run, my senses telling me there is something off about him, but I didn't move. Not one muscle in my body shifted. I couldn't understand why. Though, one arrogant question still lingered in my head."You're joking, right?"
Surely this guy was not serious. A costume in the middle of December? Is this Halloween freak show pulling a prank on the people of this store, or is the strange felling I'm getting from him real?
"...... Why do you need the medication?" He asked again, ignoring my question.
His voice was so strange now that I heard it properly. It was deep and mildly scratchy and the undertone was of something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Almost as if a child had done something wrong and successfully avoided getting in trouble.
My eyes shifted down to the medication on the counter, I had almost forgot what I was here for. His appearance caught me off guard. "S-sleep. I can't sleep," I say looking down at his boots. Not that his black boots held any meaning, just that I felt uncomfortable underneath his gaze. Even though I couldn't see his eyes, I could feel them on me. Assessing me.
After answering him there was a long and awkward silence before he spoke again, "What's your name?."
"Lilith." I answered him, glancing up periodically. I didn't understand why I was so quick to tell him my name. Even though I currently felt scared and highly uncomfortable I still felt compelled to answer, truthfully. Maybe I'm scared of him or what he might do rather.
"Lilith, huh," He started as he walked closer to me, "You were meant for the night, right?" He finished.
I immediately tensed up to his advancements, sliding back up against the shelf.
"Yeah, my friends joke about that all the time. Heh." I answer.
"Especially not being able to sleep with this... disorder." He stated, picking up the medication and turning it.
Trying to push my body flush with the counter I chuckle nervously. He's within a foot of me, strait in front of me. I don't want to move because I'm afraid. Of what? I don't know. Who wears a costume on a December morning to mess with customers?

Sorry it's so late and so short. I'm currently dealing with HS and college. I have tons of work plus I have to focus on my art. Also, I'm re-writing another story; the first story I've wrote on here I'm re-making.
