A/n: Oh my lanta. Sorry guys, my parents took my computer up for bad grades. But I got it back now, so that's good. I'll be writing a lot more for compensation. Also, my story is at 1000. So cheers!
Misty awoke to a fan swirling soundly above her head. She fluttered her eyes and stood up. She couldn't remember her getting out of the ocean. Or what happened when she crashed into the sea.
She ceased trying to remember. Every time she attempted to do so her mind went blank. The door in the front room burst open, revealing Gary. His face was a soothing comfort for Misty. His simple, but complex features. His ruffled brown hair that reminded her so much of ash's.
But no matter how she looked at him. No matter how much she reminded her of her old friend, misty couldn't trust him. Gary was evil. He was working with the enemy. Misty just hasn't got to the bottom of it yet.
"Good. Your awake. I'm glad your awake." Misty snarled a snake stare at him. She glared into his brown eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Misty snaps, taking a few defensives steps back.
Gary's faced changed from worry to no emotion written on his face at all. He closed the door behind him slowly.
"We fought that team of criminals on the ship. Remember?" He inquiries. Misty remembered that. How scary the team was. How the ship was a receipt of something horrendous. How helpless children were falling overboard.
"Didn't you get blasted into the sea?" Misty asks in response.
"I did. I swam to safety and found you, drifting unconscious in the water. Misty, if it weren't for me you would've died."
Misty's teeth clenched. She balled her fists in anger. "You should've left me." Misty snaps.
Gary's face look clearly taken aback. Almost, almost hurt.
"Look. I don't know what I did to deserve you treating me like this-" Misty cut him off quickly.
"You don't know?" The words came from Misty's mouth like venom. "You're working with that group. Or some group. I over heard you talking on the ship."
Gary, now with a tone of defensiveness in his voice walked up to misty. He stood face to face to her. Misty, not trembling from fear, looked him straight in the eye.
The air in the room stung of tension. "You didn't hear anything." Gary supplies. Misty chuckled. This time she steeped closer to Gary. She leaned on her tip toes to reach his face.
"I know exactly, what I heard. They have your grandfather. They took him, so you want him back. Their black mailing you. They have you by the tail. Their using you Gary."
Gary yelled. With anger, or fear, or both he shoved Misty down. Her body flew limp on the floor. A single tear was streaming down his chiseled face.
"You don't know what your talking about." Was all he said. He walked away slowly and out the door.
Misty felt confused. She hated him. She had to, she needed to. But she felt sorry for him, she had empathy for him. As much as it hurt her to even think it, under her breath she vowed to do all in her power to help rescue professor oak.
Grabbing her red back back, she slung it over her shoulders and placed the sleeping azurill into her arms. She walked to the door and opened it.
Outside her room was an array of cafe tables. Trainers of all sizes sat with their Pokémon. The center of the room stood a large square computer with a red headed nurse with a large pink chansey behind it.
A pokemon center. Gary took her to a pokemon center. She wondered what city, or region she was in. She looked around the center for Gary. He was no where to be found.
Wanting at least some answers, misty and her azurill walked to the center where nurse joy was currently occupied. She still couldn't fathom how this nurse joy looked like the same nurse joy form kanto. Just this nurse joys hair was different.
"Oh, hello Misty. Gary told me your name when he brought you here. Are you feeling better?" Misty smiled and nooded her head.
"Could you tell me what region I'm in?"
The nurse smiled. As if this was one of the more stupid questions she received daily.
"You're in Unova sweetie." Unova? Misty knew ash was here. Or at least was here. But she needed May and Dawn. She hoped they were okay, or at least doing better than she was.
"What happened to Gary? Did he leave?"
The nurse also smiled at this. "Sure did. He seemed pretty down. Said not to follow him. He left this for you though." Nurse joy slipped misty was hand written letter from Gary. Misty could recognize the familiar kind of sloppy kind of neat hand writing. Nonetheless it was legible.
Misty,
It read.
You were right about everything you said. Everything was true. I'm sorry for betraying your trust. Just remember next time we meet it'll be more than a push. My grandfather is in danger, I'll do anything to help him. Even if that means hurting you, may, or dawn.
Misty couldn't believe anything she read. She clutched azurill closer to her chest and continued to read.
I can't give you any information on who I'm working for. Just know their unlike any thing you or I have ever encountered before. They have unlocked secrets of Pokémon that modern science can't comprehend. Find May and Dawn, read the second letter. It'll give you directions to find ash. He's the key for our salvation, for our safety. And Misty, be careful. were entering into something that should've never been open.
"Oh my god." Was all she could say. Outside she heard the familiar screams of Dawn and may and the unfamiliar tone of a male's voice trailing behind them.
Misty ran for the window. Looking out side it sure enough was May and Dawn, running from beams and blasts that were sent from Pokémon. Behind them was a blonde haired boy Misty never seen.
"Nurse joy keep all the trainers and Pokémon in here!" Misty says as she storms out the doors and out side into the blazing chaos.
