Nightshade shuddered at the memory of Toothless's claw's scratching her midnight-blue scales, protecting Sunny, who's also known as lightfury. Nightshade lost her feelings for the green-eyed nightfury months ago, but still felt guilty about what her fierce and dangerous jealousy drove her to. Nightshade's eyes clouded, as she remembered viciously attacking her once-best friend, Sunny the lightfury. Her throat burned, tears sprang to her sky-blue eyes, she quickly closed them as the tears dripped down her face, onto the floor of the cold, dark cave. Her blue ears suddenly pricked up, as she heard something entering her cave. She spun around with great speed and sniffed the air around her. A male nightfury...
Her eyes widened in surprise. Nightfuries were rare around these areas, since Grimmel got most of them. All the nightfuries she knew of before were herself, Toothless, and some youngsters, Echo, Lightning and their brother, Hurricane, still in his egg, Toothless and Sunny (Lightfury) had found before Nightshade had been exiled. She shivered at the memory of being exiled, then with a jolt, realised the Nightfury is watching her. At the corner of her eye, Nightshade could see two, glowing, red eyes, with smoke coming from them. Nightshade slit her eyes in suspicion, nightfuries don't usually have smoke coming from their eyes. Nightshade growled, baring her teeth at the newcomer. She saw satisfaction flash in his eyes as he watched the vicious dark-blue female dragon. She twitched her tail irritably. She lifted her head high and watched the male dragon's eyes through the shadows, revealing her spiky collar. "Show yourself!" she roared, her voice echoing through the silent cave. She could hear the male nightfury's footsteps as he came closer to her, she swallowed as she realised he's a bit taller than her, and more muscular, and she had no escape if he attacked her. Her eyes widened as the glowing crystals in her cave revealed the male nightfury: a sleek, strong and VERY handsome male, his scales were black, with a bit of red stripes here and there, she noticed a scar on his side as he padded close to her, Nightshade could feel his warm breath brushing her wings, her face turned hot. He noticed this, and dragon-purred in amusement. "Satisfied?" he smirked at Nightshade, his eyes glittering. Nightshade said nothing, but nodded. She felt a tail press on her chin, and she felt it push her head up a little. The male nightfury gazed right into her eyes.
"What's wrong?" he asked Nightshade, his voice soft and gentle. Nightshade's eyes widened in disbelief how does he know I'm sad right now? She locked gazes with the nightfury, unable to look away from his ruby-red eyes.
"Memories from the past, thats all..." Nightshade didn't want to say any more, but she found herself spilling the story out in front of the male nightfury. When she mentioned how Toothless chose lightfury over her and how that broke her heart, she noticed rage flashing in the male nightfury's eyes. He growled.
"That 'Toothless' doesn't deserve you!" He gazed into Nightshade's eyes, and ruby-red eyes met with sky-blue.
The male looked down shyly before adding, in a murmur:
"You're too amazing, strong and beautiful for him...".
Nightshade's eyes widened in disbelief at his words, her blue eyes sparked with hope.
"...Really?.." Nightshade gazed at the strong, tough, handsome nightfury standing before her, a strong feeling tugged at her heart, and a wave of warmth swept through her body as he quietly replied.
"Yes.". He replied, honesty glowing in his scarlet eyes.
Nightshade purred, someone finally thought she was beautiful. A tear of joy sprang to her eyes, she's finally appreciated by someone.
"What's your name? Mine's Nightshade."
"You've got a beautiful name... Mine's Darkness."
"Your name is great, too!"
"Not as good as yours!".
