Chapter 3: A Trip

They arrive home and Mitch is there in the watchtower to open the gate. They get out of the car and walk back into Highbury.

"Hello sir!" Mitch yells coming down the watchtower.

"Hello Mitch, can you take these baskets and box them up." Bryan asks politely.

"Of course" He says running with the baskets.

"I need to talk to the Military Head" Bryan says walking away.

Highbury has been building a military ever since the Warrior War.
The head of the military is Noel. He leads walker attacks and human attacks. He has earned Bryans trust by creating the military and establishing defense for Highbury. Bryan walks in to a huge room to see Noel practicing with Avery, Kate, and Hugh with other Highbury residents

"Hows today been going?" Bryan asks.

"Pretty good, stopped some walkers heading over here a while ago, taught Hugh how to use a pistol." Noel responds.

"If only Morgan was here to see this, I told him I would teach his people how to fight" Bryan says slowly.

"I understand, and im sorry he had to go like that" Noel replies.

"Its alright, I need you to check up on guns" Bryan says.

"I have a trade with The Trinity tomorrow so I need some people to come." Bryan says.

"Ill go" Hugh says.

"Alright, anybody else?" Bryan questions.

The room is silent.

"Alright, ill have to ask more people" Bryan says.

"Were good, dont think we need a trade with Aldermine next week." Noel says coming out.

"Okay, I got to get some rest, its getting dark" Bryan says.

That night, Bryan thought about the plane that flew over. Who could it be if it wasnt Aldermine. Bryan hears a sound in the kitchen blocking his mind from thinking about the plane. He jumps up from the bed while Mia still lays there. He takes out his knife and walks into the hallway. He slowly goes to the kitchen and looks around. He sees nobody but then somebody tackles him from behind. Melanie stood there with a knife about to slice his throat.

Bryan wakes up from his dream and freaks out.

"Bryan?" Mia says seeing him freak out.

"Bad dream" Bryan says.

"What happened?" Mia asks him.

"It was Melanie" Bryan whispers.

"Babe it was just a dream" she says cuddling up next to him.

"Youre right" Bryan responds closing his eyes going back to sleep.

Morning comes and Bryan leaves the house. Hugh meets him outside and they walk to the car.

"HEY!" Issac screams.

"Mind if I come? I havent been to The Trinity in a while"

"Of course, come on" Bryan says.

They buckle in and drive to the front gate of The Trinity. Brenda is there opening the gate welcoming them.

"Got the stuff" Bryan says walking out.

Jim and Ralph come to the front and see Bryan, Issac, and Hugh.

"Hey" Jim says with finger guns.

"Hey" Bryan says doing the same to him.

"Mags and baskets" Bryan tells him.

"Thank you, heres the lettuce, corn, and peas" Jim says handing him cans and bags.

Bryan hands him the boxes.

"Perfect" Jim replies.

"Next time we need anything" Jim says.

"Anything?" Bryan clarifys.

"Were high on supplies, doesnt matter what you bring" Jim says.

"Alright" Bryan says back.

"We gotta get going, I have a trade with Aldermine" Jim says.

"Okay, see you in three weeks" Bryan says walking back to the car.

"Bye!" Brenda yells at them.

"Im glad to see what world weve made" Issac says.

"What he said, you are a great leader, you are the savior of society" Hugh adds.

"Thank you guys, but we couldnt have created this without everybody" Bryan says.

"It was all you" Hugh says.

"Wait, dont say anything" Bryan says stopping the car.

Helicopter blades can be heard flying above them.

"Aldermine?" Hugh whispers.

"They only have planes" Bryan says.

He sees where the helicopter is heading and he presses the gas.

"Were gonna follow them" Bryan tells them.

"Okay sir" Hugh replies
