So as it was the town had been left behind. Everything about the town was now just left in the mist. Now Dethearth had to get around. He was in search of men willing to fight with him against the new evil that had been found. During his travels, whenever him and his brother had stopped to rest he had trained. He had been working on his swordsmanship and his magic that he had been taught.
Everything had been falling into play. Now it was a matter of when the battle was going to take place. Dethearth, during his travel to another town, had relinquished monsters. They had all said the same thing before he had killed them. The warning was clear that the battle to come was going to be a battle for the life and freedom of the human race as it was. Every person that Dethearth had gotten, either good or evil, was helping to turn the tide for the battle. The town of Chandel was just one stepping stone. There was still more to do.
Whenever Dethearth had made it to a town he had been recognized by few. He gave the same speech that he gave in the town of Chandel. The more people that he got the more the monsters had started to attack. It was not only him that they attacked but also the ones who had followed him. His biggest stepping stone in his journey's was trying to win people over. Those that had not heard of him had hated him.
They eventually trusted him. He walked through the towns and held his head up high but not too high. Most people had heard the story of him living in the slums. He used this as an anchor to win people over. He knew how they felt and he wanted to change that. He wanted people to know that just being a noble man was not everything. He showed people through various actions that he was willing to work for the people if he had worked with him. He had odd jobs throughout his travels to earn money. He worked as a herder, he helped the blacksmiths make weapons and other accesories, he helped the shoe makers with whatever it is they needed help with.
He studied the people of the towns so that he could understand them. There were some who resisted him still even after his speech and after his kindness to help the townsfolk. They had hated him because he was the only prince that they had heard of that was willing to work and do different things to win people over. The hatred inside them had built and eventually they made contracts to help the demons in return the demons promised to spare their lives. Dethearth had not heard of this but he let the people choose freely. He had not forced anyone to do anything. He was the prince that everyone wanted. He had not figured it out until one day in the town of Delmar.
He had been working with the blacksmith in the town. Someone from the town had made a contract with a demon. The demons had ordered him to kill Dethearth. As Dethearth was finishing up a shield the man had walked up to him. Half aware of what he was doing he had pulled his sword out and walked up to Dethearth. He had challenged Dethearth publicly. The man stepped out of the blacksmith's and Dethearth had followed him. He ran and swung at Dethearth. He stumbled back seeing that the sword had not harmed him.
"The demons had told me that my sword would be able to cut through anything so long as I made a contract to help them. Why has my blade failed me when it has never failed me before?" Said the man trembling in fear, "You are not a human. I know what you are prince. You are a demon just like the one that i have seen before. Die now where you stand!"
As the man finished his speech he ran towards Dethearth again. He swung his sword downward with all his might. Dethearth had drawn his sword by the time the man had reached him. Dethearth had stepped to the side and stabbed the man. As Dethearth pulled out his sword the man fell down dead. His blood had started to drain out into the street. Dethearth had looked at his dead body with weary eyes. He had gotten down on his knee and started to pray for the man. He had assured the townsfolk that he had not meant to kill him. He assured them that it was selfdefence and that, that was only a taste of what the demons would try to do.
