Leah's POV--

With the sun rising outside my window, I was just simply sat on my bed, thinking. I was always seemed to be thinking recently, whether it was about school, my life, or that stupid mystery guy that I was writing. My mind was constantly going, so much I didn't even remember going to sleep that night. There was no real reaosn why I was thinking this much, but I just couldn't help it because not knowing that guy's name was driving me crazy. So crazy that I had even thought about talking to Jack and even actually going over to the guy's mum's house. I was almost becoming desperate, but I knew I just had to wait a bit longer until Halloween, then I would know.

Right on cue, my stomach began to growl as I got up to walk into the kitchen. Since I was up, I might as well have eaten breakfast. When I made my way down the hall, I spotted something in the distance on the kitchen counter, my laptop. I had completely forgotten to bring that back into my bedroom with me to charge over night. Before I made my breakfast, I had to make sure that I plugged in my laptop to have fully charged for class that day. However, when I got up to it, the USB drive sticking out the side almost immediately caught my eye. A smile instantly grew on my lips as I logged onto my computer, allowing for me to listen to his song again. My laptop could wait to be charged...right?

The song wasted no time before filling my tiny apartment up with its music. Every time I heard it, I was still shocked that I was actually talking to the guy who is behind such a beautiful voice. It gave me goosebumps when he would go into the chorus. The only thing that felt a little uneasy about this was the fact that the song was clearly a love song, and by the way he sang the words, there was no doubt that there was at least some feeling behind it all. For some reason, it made me jealous that another girl could make him feel that type of way, which was why I had to ask him who it was about in my last letter I sent. I just really hope he planned on giving me a better answer than 'my ex.'

Getting too lost in the music and his voice, I didn't even hear the someone knocking on the front door. I practically jumped up to the ceiling when I saw someone else standing in the kitchen with me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. You just didn't answer, so I thought I would come in."

The last person I wanted to see right now picked up an apple out of the bowl on the kitchen counter, as he came up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I quickly felt nothing but uncomfortable, so I tried my best to wriggle out of his grasp without making it a big deal.

"It's fine," I said, turning the volume down on my computer.

"You seem to really like that song based since it was blasting throughout despite the fact that it's only half past seven in the morning."

"Yeah, I guess so. Hey, can I ask why you're here?" The question came out a little harsher than I intended, but over the past few months, I honestly didn't know why he kept trying to come back into my life.

In the beginning in the year, almost into February, my mom said that she was setting me up with one of her friend's sons, Jared. Of course, I went along with it and went out with the guy. At first, it was a little awkward, then things became slightly better which caused me to stay with him into the Spring. Once May ended, I started to feel different about him, and that I was only with him because I was doing it for my mom. I wanted to end it there, but he would always tell me these things about me making his life better and that he thought he was falling for me. Hearing all of that, I just couldn't let him go because I felt bad, so I just started to ignore him. I ignored his calls, his texts, his invites to stupid parties. I pretty much broke up with him without him knowing, which was he was standing in my kitchen.

"I wanted to see you. I feel like I haven't in so long." I tried my best to keep calm while making my eggs and toast, but I really just wanted to tell him straight up to leave. Unfortunately, that didn't last long, and I couldn't control what came out my mouth next.

"Jared, can you please just leave. I don't want to be with you anymore because I'm seeing someone else." Both of our eyes go wide, attempting to take in what I just said. Before I knew it, Jared was storming out of my place, and I was left there stunned and with burning eggs.

Eep! That was unexpected right? ;) Hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I will have one up by tonight!
