Lost World
By: Peyton Kidkul
In a world where nature is forgotten,
On a mountain standing tall overlooking a vast forest,
Within a seal known today as a desert,
On an uncharted island surrounded by ocean,
Beneath its waters are the deadly forces of nature,
Upon the island sits a volcano which is smoking in the distance,
Within the soil tremors surge though signaling an eruption,
Under the vast canopy of leaves a deer's ears perk up,
Within half a second the deer turns and runs having smelled the sulfur in the air,
In the deer's mind the disaster came with only that warning,
Inside of the dense desert seal surrounded by an even denser ocean the volcano erupts,
Under a mask of molten rock vibrant colors flow from the destructive force,
In the ocean all that is left of this lost world is boiling waters and a submerged shadow.
