Only Me
I won't say that I'm a pop star,
or in a Braodway show.
But I'll say I sing my heart out,
and that's all you need to know.
I can't pretend like I'm the dancing king,
turning twirls like child's play,
when I'm only spazzing around my room
in the most ungraceful way.
You won't hear that I'm a New York chef
whipping up a cheese souffle,
because I'm really messing up my kitchen,
trying to make PB&J.
Do you see another me-
cooler, smarter, more mature?
Do you know another Joey
with a thousand talents, maybe more?
Or do you see a normal guy,
average to the core?
Do you hear my alter ego
knocking at the door?
No, I didn't think so-
I'm only me and nothing more.
