Happily Ever After (A Colby Brock Fanfiction)

~Chapter 10~

Mara's Point Of View 

***Two Years Later***

Today, Colby, Avery, and I are having our first family pictures and I could not be any more excited. "Hey, Colby, are you almost ready?" I called into the other room. "Yeah, just like two more minutes." He said and I just chuckled to myself.

I could just imagine him looking at himself in the mirror to make sure that he looks absolutely perfect. I mean, I highly doubt that he is actually doing that, but it's just really fun to imagine that.

A couple minutes later he walked into the room looking as handsome as ever. "Wow, Brock don't you look handsome?" I say walking over to him and giving him a kiss.

"Eww, mommy! That's disgusting!" Avery says hiding her eyes. "Why do you and daddy kiss all of the time?!" I just laugh, "You will understand one day when you find someone that you love just as much as I love your daddy." I said smiling.

"Okay, can we go now?" Avery asks for like the third time in the past five minutes. Well, that's Avery for ya, little miss impatient, but I love her. "Yes, little lady, we can go now." Colby says, grabbing her hand as we all make our way out to the car.

Colby's Point Of View 

I am really nervous for today, not about the pictures, but about something else that I have been planning ever since Mara said that she wanted to get pictures done.

I am planning to propose during the pictures, so then we can get pictures of that too, like engagement photos or something. I really don't know, I just thought that this would be the most perfect time to do so.

Our photographer knows that I'm going to do this too, as I said, I have been planning this out for like ever. I am going to do it towards the end of the session. I just really hope Mara likes it.

We finally arrive at the location of the photo shoot and get started taking pictures almost immediately. These people definitely do not like to mess around. I like it though, the faster we can get through all of the other pictures, the faster I get to propose to the woman of my dreams.

Okay this is it. Nows the time. The photographer just gave me the signal and I have to admit, I am way more nervous than I thought that I would be. "Okay, Colby I need you to stand here and Mara, could you stand next to him?" 

When we were in our places, I turned to Mara and got down on one knee. She looked at me and at first, she was confused. A few moments later, I could see the realization hit her face like a ton of bricks. 

"Mara," I began as I took her hand, "Ever since we met that day when Sam and I were walking down the sidewalk, I knew that there was something special about you. As I have gotten to know you the past few years, I have learned that I was right. It would mean the world to me if you would marry me." 

She gasped, "Yes! Of course I will marry you!" She exclaimed and hugged me. This is the best day of my life! I also have no idea what I would have done if she would of said no, man that would have been embarrassing! 😂

Mara's Point Of View 

I can't believe that I just gotten engaged! If you would have asked me before I had ever met Colby if I had seen myself ever getting married I would have honestly said no.

Colby has taught me what it's like to feel loved and I will never let him forget just how thankful I am for it. We are just about to go out for a celebration dinner and Sam and Kat are nice enough to look after Avery while we are gone.

"Okay, Ave, be good for Aunt Kat and Uncle Sam while we are gone, okay?" I told her as I gave her a hug. "Okay, mommy, I will." She said and ran over to Colby to give him a kiss.

"Thank you guys so much for watching her." "Oh, your so welcome! We would be happy to watch her anytime! Congratulations on your engagement by the way! I just knew that you too would get married some day." Sam told me.

"Really? How?" "Well, on the day we first met you walking down that sidewalk, I saw the way that Colby looked at you. I have known him most of my life and I have never seen him look at someone that way." "Wow." I said in amazement.

"You ready to go?" Colby asked me, "Yep. Let's go." I say grabbing his hand and then we walked outside to his car.

We are back home from our date now and Avery is spending the night with Sam and Kat. That was probably the best date of my entire life. Colby is just the sweetest human being on the face of this Earth and I couldn't imagine myself being with anybody else.
