I put him on a pedestal
he fell before I knew
I kissed the ground he walked on
nothing else I could do
I adored his every action
a fact I now rue
Where else could he go but down?
my worshipping too much
he started acting the clown
then refusing my touch
he began to sport a frown
I was no longer his rush
He found his own idol
I was no longer his need
to her he would sidle
kept us both, greed
he tightened my bridle
tried to plant his seed
I'm now free from his spell
rebuilding my life
I hope he's keeping well
no trouble or strife
someone else rings my bell
I'm going to be a wife
