Me: Time travel? Past or future?
You: Shouldn't the question be -- Time travel, yes or no?
Me: Oh, so it's a no?
You: I didn't say that.
Me: Well, if it were a yes, then you would have just chosen between the past or the future.
You: You know, there's a reason why time is linear. It's less complicated.
Me: But what if it isn't?
You: You watch too much sci-fi.
Me: You think too much.
You: Oh, look who's talking.
Me: Say, hypothetically that time is not just one dimension. That we can move not just forward but backward as well. And maybe sideways or fast forward -- like really fast forward. Have you ever thought of that?
You: Hmm. Just now.
Me: And?
You: Okay, let's say we can rewind time and go back. What for?
Me: I know, maybe you want to do things a little better this time. Some minor twitches in your life. Some changes in decisions, maybe.
You: Hmm. Nah. Wouldn't change a thing.
Me: You're boring.
You: Really? Me? Okay, you tell me. What would you change from the past?
Me: I'd go 1 minute ago and say -- you're handsome instead of you're boring. Let's see if you'd still react the same way.
You: Haha. Very funny.
Me: Well, I wish I spent more time on more important things. Or spent it more with dad. Wish I could talk to him again. You know, things like that.
You: Oh, that would be nice. But things happened for a reason. Small or big events, they have had an effect to where we are now. Butterfly Effect. Remember those movies? One small adjustment had big changes to their present. It's kinda scary to change anything.
Me: So you don't have regrets, huh?
You: Oh, I do. Got a lot. But I like where I am now. So I wouldn't really want to change anything I did in the past. Everything lead me here.
Me: Future? Do you want a sneak peek?
You: I was never fond of fortune tellers. I like mystery.
Me: Huh, mystery!
You: That makes life interesting, right. The fact that we don't know what happens next. The mystery kinda makes us going.
Me: But that same mystery scares me.
You: Well you have to trust. Just live each day. Don't dwell on the past. Don't worry about the future. Live in the present and just trust your instincts. These would lead you to the best possible future.
Me: Makes sense. I stand corrected. You're not boring after all.
You: So I'm handsome, huh?
Me: Not gonna answer. You can add that to the mysteries in your life.
You: Oh, great!
