I was walking home, backpack in one hand and a slightly crumpled piece of paper in the other with Marie's number on it.

Marie...

I whispered her name in my mind. Her name was simple and was fairly common but picturing her face with it made a rare reaction from me. I rarely ever would look at a girl and feel that way. Imagine, a lesbian like me with a weak heart for a beautiful girl like her. Someone call UHaul cuz I'd move in so damn fast the stereotype of how lesbians are fast in a relationship would have to catch up. No one even knows I'm even capable of having feelings. I always give off that kind of emotionless 'Dont talk to me vibe. ' People always saw me as someone who just wanted to get through the day with no friends, no conversations, not even a slight hit of my voice. Teachers would almost never call my name. That little conversation with Marie might even have been my first conversation with a person ever.

I opened the door to the apartment building and made my way up to the second floor and to my room. I open the door and walk past my kitchen to my living room. (Both connected) I toss my bag on my leather chair and layed flat on my couch. I look at the number Marie wrote on the slightly crumbled paper. I then pull my phone out and save her number in it. My phone might as well have sent a congratulations cuz that was my first contact that involved a human that wasn't trying to talk to me about my Data or my phone bill. I debated whether to text her or not. I mean she might as well have my number, right? I opened a message chat between her number and mine and texted:

- Hey. It's me Lily from class. :)

I thought for a moment and typed:

- How you doin' little girl?

It felt cheesy but from what I could tell that first time I called her that she found it pretty funny. Let's hope she still does.
