"Riley what are you sa-"

"Maya likes you Lucas."

Riley blurted, her eyes turning glossy.

"Riley what are you doing?"

Maya shouted, she met with Lucas' forest green eyes that stated back at her, in disbelief, Maya eyes became glossy too.

"Maya, is that true?"

Lucas voice held a hit of hope, hoping she would say it was one of Riley's bad jokes. But then again Riley didn't joke around like that.

"Yes Lucas."

Maya searched his eyes for a sign of happiness or anything that would prove he cared for her the same way but all he did was shake his head.

"I can't believe this."

Lucas ducked his head in his hands.

"I just want you to be happy Maya."

Riley said as Maya stated at her, silently asking her why. Even if I'm not. Tears pricked at Riley eyes and she turned away when Lucas had look up.

"Riley are you-"

Before he could finish Riley had run away from them and into the trees that surrounded.

Maya and Lucas watched as Riley disappeared and then they looked to each other.

Maya's eyes showered with regret, she should have never reacted to Lucas riding the bull, she should have hidden her feelings better. Now she had hurt her best friend.

Lucas didn't know what to do or what to say next, he just stared at Maya wishing she was Riley.
