Mikes pov
"What's the next obstacle" Brady asked Jack between pants. We ran directly to the next obstacle and according to Jack who has the map we are about a minute away.
"It's called the Lava lake" Skyler said panting as well. We couldn't afford to fall behind....if King Daniel gets those crowns he'll find a way to wear it despite is overwhelming power.
It's said that only the elements of power referring to Jack and Skyler have enough power to wear the crowns but each year the Crown isn't found the power slowly lessens and can only be restored once it's put on.
Even so the crown won't have enough power to injure a person that can't stand it's power and I'm pretty sure that King Daniel figured that out.
Damn! K-I-N-G D-A-N-I-E-L.....that's way to long! I'll just say K.D yeah that sounds about right.
"L-lava?" Brady squeaked. I had to hold in a snicker at how scared he sounded. "Yeah Lava" Jack said rolling his eyes as if he didn't believe that it was real Lava.
"Let's just-" Skyler cut herself off.
Her mouth made an 'O' shape and when I looked at what she was looking at ,I'm pretty sure I looked the same.
Skylers pov
"Wait is that......." Jack trailed off.
"......the lava lake" Brady finished.
I can't believe what I'm looking at.
It's real lava...I've never seen Lava in my life.
I was quick to snap out of my daze. "Let's go the sooner we finish this obstacle the better." I'm pretty sure Daniel and his crew still have at least one more challenge in the maze, if not we better hurry. I just hope my vampire ally stalled them for long enough.
And yes I said DANIEL I refuse to call that thing by King. We ran to the sign but we were careful not to get to close to the lake.
"Look closer fellow travellers let your eyes show you the way" it read.
Pause...
"Thats it!??" Jack said. I pinched my nose bridge. "I'm so sick of this shxt" I muttered. Brady just rolled his eyes as if expecting this and Mike let out a dramatic sigh.
"Okay guys let's.....figure this out" Jack said.
"Arghhhh! !! Look closer what fxck is that suppose-"Brady got cut off"Hey!!!" I think my heart just jumped in my chest. That's neither of our voices.
"Oh no.....we gotta hurry" Jack said quickly. The voice was distant so I'm thinking we have about a minute or two or three or four who knows.
"Look!!" Brady said pointing the the lake. I looked at what he was pointing at. "What?" Jack asked before I could.
"Look closer guy focus on the lake" He said. Okay focus on the lake.
This is kinda weird looking at lava...I think this sign is playing with us. I mean who would wanna look at see-through lava all day just to pass this........
"IT'S SEE-THROUGH" Jack, Mike and I said in sync. "Wait then does that mean..." I gasped. "...it's not real lava" I finished my sentence.
Lava lake my butt!!!
Jacks pov
"Are you sure I mean it might be a trick we have to make sure before we just dive in" Brady said cautiously.
"Okay I'll do it" Skyler said. "Oh hell no....you're not going anywhere near that" I said sternly. Her leg is already messed up I don't need any more injuries on her.
She rolled her eyes and looked away.
"I'll do it then" Mike said stepping towards the lake. He slowly put his hand in side but instead of pain his face showed confusion.
"This is jelly?" He said. "Seriously?" I asked. He nodded. "He began putting his legs in the 'lava jelly' and he started walking to the other side.
"Wow so this is probably the easiest challenge we have so far." Skyler said. I nodded in response. It's like the lake knew that we were in a hurry. "I think I see them!!!" someone shouted.
My eyes widened. In a flash we went to the jelly lava and started speed walking to the other side. When we got there since it wasn't far we made our way to the next challenge which just happens to be in the woods.
Brady's pov
"Arghhhh we've been walking forever" Mike complained.
"Yeah..and honestly this forest is starting to give me the creeps" I added.
"Okay guys I think someone is following us" Skyler whispered. I looked around. "I think your eyes are just playing tricks with you I mean it's really dark and-" she cut me off.
"No!"she hissed. "Someone is following us I can feel it just......just please trust me on this one. We have to get out of these woods now" she said. Skyler actually sounded scared now.
"She's right someone's here" Jack added. "Look!" Mike pointed at at the sign in front of the tree. We wasted no time and ran to the sign as quick as possible.
"What does it say" I asked Skyler who was in front. She turned around and her face was pale and terrified.
I stepped forward to read it.
"Beware for you are at one the hardest of challenges.Prepare yourselves travellers its a long journey out of the Red Forest but watch you're backs because you're not alone"
Shxt.
"What are we gonna do. Who knows who or what is out there following us" Skyler hissed.
She was freaking out I could tell.
"Skyler calm down" Jack said. "DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN JACK LOOK AT YOURSELF!!! YOU'RE HURT SOME PSYCHO STABBED YOU AND NOW THERE'S SOMETHING HERE IN THIS FOREST THAT DEFINITELY DOESN'T CARE WHETHER YOU LIVE OR NOT" Skyler shouted.
A silence took over. We all staring at Skyler who was trying everything in her power to control herself.
"Look I just.....I don't want anything to happen to any of you" she whispered.
"Nothing will Skyler we promise" I reassured her. The rest nodding in response. She smiled and a comfortable silence took over.
