Tension

You and Ada have been together now for three years. Your relationship hasn't been perfect like anybody's there has been ups and downs. Which is normal for any relationship, healthy in fact. Arguments aren't that common however between you two as you're both level headed and honest. The majority of the time arguments are avoided as you are both quick to talk when something has affected you, so each of you can work on avoiding the issue in the future. Your relationship has always been strong through this as communication has always been there and you both love each other so much most of the time annoyances dwindle away. This does however mean when you do argue it's bad. Arguments that do happen are usually fuelled with bottled emotions. Most of the time that isn't even to do with your relationship but outside aspects. When an argument does occur all other areas play a part.

This is exactly what is currently happening. The day started as normal you waking before Ada. You sat there softly moving fallen pieces of dishevelled hair out of your lovers face, tucking them gently behind her ear. You could never tire of this beautiful, loving woman. Trailing your fingers softly across her strong jaw you can't help but think you couldn't live without waking up to this. Noticing the time you begin to try waking her. Softly running your fingers through her hair u draw near, whispering her name to wake her gently. You begin to place feather light kisses along her jaw. Her lips twitch and her face begins to scrunch slightly. Her eyes start to flutter and then as soon as they open she shuts them due to the harsh light slipping through the curtains. A groan is all that can be heard as she tries to bury her head into the pillows whilst her arms wrap around you pulling you near.

"Good morning" you whisper, still not wanting to break the mornings tranquility. A muffled response is all you heard although you know she said it back. She peaks out of one eye and smiles lovingly at you. "Any morning is a good morning when I get to see this view" she replies whilst winking at you. Of course you wince at her painful flirting but you also blush as you secretly enjoy it. "Come on, we need to get up and prepare for the day my love" you say whilst shuffling to get up although wasn't much point when she's wrapped around you like a koala so you can't move. "No, I'm not moving, I'm warm and happy". Everyday starts with the same shit, smiling, you do what you always have to. You get up on all fours whilst she clings to you and begin to stand. Her grip is tight and her legs are firmly wrapped around you whilst she places her head into your neck. "Everyday we go through this and Ik it's only because you like my display of strength" you chuckle. See to outsiders she is seen as tough, cold and dominate but to you she lets her mask slip and you get to see who she really is. That is loving, sweet, playful and honestly so much more.

Walking into the kitchen you place her on the work surface and begin boiling the kettle. She gets to work preparing breakfast. The two of you work in harmony, happily moving around in your bubble. Whilst waiting for the tea to boil you walk to her and hug her from behind. The morning tranquility is always the best part of the day as it's peaceful and it's your personal haven. Where you can be a couple without judging eyes and everything else that follows with living in this shit riddled town. The only reason you aren't mistreated is because of Ada being a Shelby but even that can't withhold the gossiping, looks, comments and judgement.

Now we do live differently and ahead of the time. See the peaky blinders saw how we are treated not just as a couple but as women. They didn't stand for it so they took over A pub that tried to stop us before they saw Ada from drinking in there. To tommy this was a gate way. They took over the pub and made us landladies of it. Now, that part is only known by us, to anyone else we just work there. The income is ours as is the pub. This is our life and it's good. We allow the pub for women to drink in and anyone whose considered an underdog. It caused an uproar to begin with but tommy fixed that now it's normal. However much like later today it doesn't always stay calm and accepted.
