I ran all the way back to my apartment, never once stopping or looking back. I lost my appetite and couldn't think about anything else other than what I just saw. I finally stopped once I reached the elevator, pressing the button rapidly while trying to catch my breath. I looked around the lobby, a few people scattered about but no one paying attention to me. I finally heard the ding of the elevator and the doors open. I leaned up against the back wall still trying to catch my breath. I kept my eyes on my feet as I heard the elevator doors start to close but before they could a hand stopped them. I shot my head up with wide eyes, having a short flashback to what had happened only a few minutes before. As the doors reopened my eyes landed on a middle aged man who gave me a soft smile as he got into the elevator. I wiped my tears, looking down at the little hand that was firmly gripping his. My eyes were met with those of a little boy. His hazel eyes looked up at me through his long eyelashes and I couldn't help but grin at his innocent little face. He turned back around as the elevator stopped at my floor. I made my way around the boy and as I walked out I looked back, giving him a slight smile and a head nod. Before I turned to walk to my door, I couldn't help but notice the bright florescent yellow rain coat that hung over his small frame.I kicked my shoes off and made my way into my bathroom. I turned the shower on and got undressed. I let out a long sigh as the warm water ran over my face. As I closed my eyes all I could picture was the image of Penny. His body jarring around as he swung back and forth on that chain, his laughter rang through my ears. I wiped the water away from my face, holding my head in my hands as I took a few deep breaths. I lifted my head up as the water continued to run down my face. I licked my lips and to my surprise, I tasted something. The entire room started to fill up with a strong odor. I licked my lips again, then recognizing the taste and scent of metal. I opened my eyes and to my horror, what was coming out of the shower head wasn't water, but blood. I screamed as I backed away from the stream of red liquid but flipped on the pool that had accumulated at the bottom of the shower. I reached my hand out for the railing but couldn't catch myself in time and then, it all went black.

I woke up to the sound of a steady beeping sound. My eyes felt heavy and a wave of pain came over me. I groaned, only opening my eyes slightly because of the bright light.
"Mom?" a voice said in the distance.
"(Y/N)?" another voice said sounding closer.
I blinked a couple times trying to adjust to the brightness. Another wave of pain came over me and I felt tears fall down my cheeks.
"Mom?" the voice said again, bringing me out of my daze.
I looked up to see the face of Robbie leaning over me. His blue eyes were filled with worried as he looked down.
"Hey, hey mom" he said again, a smile forming.
"Oh my god (y/n)..." Maggie said from behind Robbie.
Her eyes were filled with tears as she held onto Esther.
"Wha- what happened?" my voice croaked.
Maggie moved to the other side of the bed, taking my hand in hers.
"You fell..." she started, wiping her tears away with her free hand.
"You fell in the shower" Robbie said.
"Your neighbour heard you scream and when you wouldn't answer the door he called the police to check on you. You slipped in the shower and hit your head." Maggie said, wiping the remaining tears from her face.
I looked away as another flashback played through my mind. The blood...
"Did they see it?" I croaked.
"See what?" Maggie asked.
"The blood..." I said, now looking up at her.
"There was a bit of blood, you hit your head quite hard." She said, her eyebrows furrowed together in slight confusion.
I shook my head slightly, trying to figure everything out.
"It's okay" Maggie said, taking my hand. "Everything's going to be okay."
