Out of nowhere, the golden hue of sun conquered the darkness and tiptoed in my room while drifting me into consciousness.A sudden knock on the door took my attention. Mr. Blake, the person who brought me in this world, came in.
"Al...sweety wake up" he said, kissing my forehead softly.
"Dad...I'm already awake" I said in a cracking voice.
"Pancakes are waiting for you" he told me in an exciting tone.
"Offf...you know how to make me jump out of this bed, don't you?" I complaint while smiling.
I rushed towards bathroom and took a quick bath.
After that I stood at the window and shot a glance at the flowers of my garden, which were waltzing in gentle breeze.
In a few moments, the creepy house in front of my home caught my glimpse, where the flowers were begging for water. The house seemed like a closed book of puzzles, the unsolved mystery, where lived an old man who always ignored talking to anyone, so no one knew his name and all I knew about him was: he was Mr. Someone.
I always felt like someone was staring at me from windows of that house but I always ignored it because I don't ever wanted to think about that creepy house or that fraught with danger old man.
After breakfast, Dad took me to shopping, where we had a lot of fun. He told me that he had a night shift at hospital so he'll drop me at home and will leave for hospital. It was mine and Dad's rule to spent whole day of Saturday together, which we were absolutely following that day.
Dad parked the car in front of our home and his phone started vibrating, he opened the screen and his face brightened up.
"Perfect timing..." he said excitingly and I passed him a questioning look.
He pulled me and kissed my cheek.
"Happy birthday sweetheart" oh yeah .... it's 12:00 and it's my birthday.
"You know sweety...after your mom... you're the only thing I'm left with in this world and you mean everything to me....I love you" tears trickled down my cheeks as he ended his words.
"I love you so much Dad!!.." I said in a cracking voice while hugging him tightly.
Again his lips touched my blugging cheeks and he kissed me saying goodbye.
I remembered Mom, while walking through the garden towards the door of my home. Mom really loved these flowers and took good care of them, even Dad started the same job, when I was five and she passed away. Those flowers were full of life and love, love of my Mom, which made them brighter and happier.
As I opened the door, whole house was pitch black and out of the blue, many voices shouted together.
"Happy Birthday Alana...." Which for me was not less then a bombshell.
To my surprise, all of my friends were there as Dad had given Maxine, my best friend, the extra keys. Well that was sort of funny but I must say, me and my friends, we guys literally loved eachother.
We all had a short party for two hours and they all went by 02:00 am. So of being tired of all day long, I decided to go in my room and have a good sleep.
As I entered my room, an icily cold and clammy as death hand covered my eyes.
"Happy Birthday Alana"
Panic ripped through the length of me as that rough and terrifying voice whispered that from my back.
"You would never know, how much I have waited for you to turn eighteen."
I felt like my heart was missing a beat and my tongue was not supporting me to talk.
He removed his hands but I didn't turn, I heard someone leaving the room and the sound of main door been closed snapped me out of my daze.
I started breathing heavily and calmed myself down. Then I went out to checked the whole house but there was no one.
He left........
