(Jarvis's POV)
It's 4:30 in the evening.
If you're wondering how I passed time in the afternoon, I'd say I just slacked off and watched TV all day. It was a Totally Spies! Marathon on Nickelodeon.
What I'm doing right now is just staring into my walk-in wardrobe figuring out what to wear for a housewarming party, especially that of a rich family's.
I pulled out my green hoodie that said Life, Yo! at the front and a skull at the back, along with a blue jean.
Nope! Won't look nice in a formal party.
I hanged them back in the wardrobe and pulled out a blue t-shirt and a black jean.
Still no.
I hanged them back in the wardrobe. This time, I pulled out a black leather jacket and a black trousers.
No! No! No! I'm not going to a rock concert.
I hanged them back in the wardrobe. I'm starting to think I don't have any formal clothes in here.
Then when I decided to give up searching for one, I found a tuxedo at the far end of the walk-in wardrobe. I pulled it out, and went in front of the mirror to see if it fits me well.
Yup. Still fit.
I put it on and did the tie properly. I even put on some cologne to make an impression on the girls. Then I took out a container of Gatsby Water Gloss hair gel and applied it on my hair to make it look nice.
When I was done. It was 5:15 and mom knocked on the door to let me know that we're leaving in 5 minutes. I took one last look at myself in the mirror, made sure I don't have any errors on myself that could humiliate me in front of everyone and went downstairs to the garage.
Dad has already started the engine and was waiting for us in the van. I got in the far back and prayed extra-hard that Charles wouldn't sit next to me. Luckily though, Amy got in first and sat next to me. She winked at me and I gave her a thumbs-up sign.
When Charles got in the car, he didn't seem particularly happy to sit in the middle seat. I could tell from his reaction when he saw me and Amy at the back taking up all the place, that he was definitely gonna do something to me right before we reach the party. I breathed a sigh of relief.
We took off when mom got in the car. It was going to be a 15 minutes drive.
At one point, Amy leaned over and whispered-
"You going to impress the ladies with that cologne?"
"The GIRLS!" I hissed.
"Alright alright, I'm just teasing. Hahaha!"
I grunted and stared out of the window.
When we got out of the car, I couldn't believe how much the Skylars decorated their mansion.
There were lots of antique lampposts on the path that went round the fountain and to the front door. The garden was lit entirely with lanterns and spotlights. There were about 30 butlers and maids lined up along the path to the front door, greeting everyone who walked by. The mansion was decorated with colorful light bulbs and neon lights. At the corner of the garden, there was a huge tiger statue that the kids were playing around. Near the fountain, another statue towered above everyone who passed by. It was a statue of a man holding a rifle and looking out onto the horizon.
At the end of the footpath to the front door, there was a smaller model of the Arch de Triumphe.
I was actually looking forward to see the insides. When I turned round to tell my parents to hurry along, they weren't there- only Amy was standing beside me.
