Chapter one:Part 1
"Visions"
Night of the third full moon, 6th day of the first era.
So there I was, in the middle of a burning village, dead bodies everywhere, of known men, and familiar strangers of foreign land, lying in puddles of their own blood. As I stood, I could barely stand in my bloodied legs, shaking and limping I made my way to safety, a pile of ashed hay, I just threw my body there, just waiting for my last breath, as it started raining water poured on my face washing aways the dry blood from my face, I saw clearly, the silhoutte of a female body, I thought it to be an angel, ready to carry me to the heavens, to see my makers, to sit in the large dining table with my ancestors, to rejoice in my early death. I didnt fight it, instead I allowed myself to close my eyes, and rest.
I woke up in a strange room, full with furniture and a makeshift bed made out of hay where I was lying.
My chest and rib area was covered in bandages, my hands where clean, and I could stand up with ease, I had a strong scent of herbs, and maybe medecine, I walked to the window just to feel the burning sun clenching my eyes, I could see I was in some hut atop of a mountain in and unfamiliar place. I searched the room with my eyes to see if I could find either my clothes or my sword, but without any luck. I heard the door rattle as if someone had just arrived, I grabbed the first thing I could get my hands on, a small wooden thick stick, and I stood there infront on the room's door, waiting prepared for anything that may walk in. As the door opened, I put my hands in an offensive position ready to swing the stick, as I was about to go in for the strike, I say it was a short figure entering, so I release my hands of the wooden stick, just to bewilderedly appologize to the female figure, after that small period of silence, I atacked the being with questions.
-"Where am I, who are you, and what have you done to me?" I asked forcefully
and she calmly replied.
-"Please sit, you're not supposed be overdoing yourself, i'll answer all of your questions later."
So I laid down on the makeshift bed, staring at her with my confused eyes.
And so she smiled at me and continue her walk to what appeared to be a kitchen, I stared out the window, idling at the horizon.
-"You must be real hungry, after all you did slept for three days."
She inturepted my daydream, three days sleeping, I wonder whats left of the village, if there where any survivors.
-"So you want answers, boy, go on, ask'em then!" She says with calm friendly voice.
Her voice was unatural, she looked like a child but had the voice of a grown woman, as she took her cloak off to hang, I got a better look of who she was; Her hair was ash gray, falling all the way to her hips, her skin was a pale white, and she didn't look old at all, her face was as serene as a middle aged girl's.
All of my real questions where overwritten by a single doubt.
-"Are you a..."
-"Yes, a Martizian" she unterrupted me, as if she had been ask such question various times.
Its weird to see a Martizian in these part of the Province since they never leave their land up in the northeast side of the map, the Province of Martäza wich is the home of these hardy and proud elven race, who think themselfs higher and mightier than the other races. I've never seen one in person before, I thought of them to be taller, angelic looking even.
-"What are you doing in these part of the world, elf?" I asked in a sarcastic manor, without looking astraight to her.
She looked at me, raised her left eye brow in disagreement of the word 'elf' reffering to her, and evaded my question.
-"You know, you where in a pretty bad shape when i found you, your soul was almost riddin of its living vessel, you where "lucky" i found you first." she said with a grin.
I took that as way to finish the topic, and so began the silence, and so I started to idle again, and the woman stood and went back to the kitchen, after a few minutes the smell of beef stew sorrounded the whole place, my stomach started to pound me with hunger, and so my mouth began to water at the thought. The woman enters the room with a wooden bowl and a bottle of what appeared to be... whine, its been long sence I drank whine, a year before the tragic event I might say.
She gave me the bowl full to the top with beef stew, but before I started to eat I took a sip of the whine, after I rejoiced myself with such exquisite ripe flavor of lavender and grapes, I saw my reflection in the purple liquid, my beard was growing, I hated it beacuse it reminded me of my abusive father who was a drunk, so I stopped, and placed the bottle in the floor next to the bowl of stew. and I began to eat with haste, as soon as a finished my supper, I asked the woman if she had something I could shave with, she noded and walked next to the kitchen where there was a small cabinet where she pulled out a small bended moon-shaped razor, a small round container filled with shaving balm and a silver plate to use as a mirror. as I was shaving my nostalgic beard all the questions came back to mind.
-"Well, umm, miss..."
-"Leranna" she said with a smile.
-"Leranna, how did you manage to find, and save me, i mean, you coul've missed me or left me for dead, why me exactly?" I ask doubtfully
-"Well Jaeson, as you may know, us Martizians have an inborn gift to see the fragments of uncertain futures, well you my friend, where in mine"
I fell in surprise, and I actually believed her, the fact of her knowing my name, I couldnt do anything more, but to trust her words.
-"My vision was of a burning land, demons walking the plains, corpses everywhere, the eternal plain being corrupted, a summoner born again, the mark in the back, it is you who i saw, it is you who must stop the eternal plain from ever being destroyed, it is you who i see Jaeson, that is why i was able to find you."
-"But "I" have no mark, "I"cant even cast a spell Leranna, how can "I" be this vision of yours?"
-"Believe me Jaeson the time will come when that question will answer itself, since i dont have an explanatory one"
-"Leranna, was the burning land the begining of all, my burning village, is that the first part of your vision?"
-"i.."
Her voice started to fade and she suddenly stopped, and told me to rest, and that she was to do the same. But what mark, a summoner, the eternal plains, demons... it was all too sudden, I had no mark in my back, well not the last time I checked, and what is this "eternal plain" she mentioned... it cant be me from her vision, but then again, how was she able to find me. I had so many questions still unanswered, but she seemed really tired, and so was I, I laid in the makeshift bed, and tried to rest.
