00.30 flashed in neon red on the small screen before you unplugged it, and it flickered off. You wrapped the thin cord around the base of the clock before tossing it in your suitcase. You sighed, looking around the unusually barren place you'd no longer be living in.

You left it at least a little operable, since you hoped you'd be able to sneak out of the District every now and then to let loose. Wires connecting to all types of stuff still hung from the roofs, draping over a few projects that didn't turn out well that you nailed into the wall. For decoration purposes, or something. Death---your best friend in the outside---had told you that your house was too bland.

Though, with his boring house that didn't even have a proper bed, his wasn't any better.

Either way, you'd miss the place. A lot of good memories left as blood stains against the metal or nailed on the wall. Small lights were hung around, as well. Death told you it's a thing in the Districts. Long strands of little lights to light up rooms instead of one big one. You thought it impractical at first, but after you made the things, you liked them and couldn't bear to part with them.

But you had to, since you didn't have the space, plus you had no clue how the District worked. Did they even have outlets? They were supposed to be much more advanced, but you had no clue in what ways. You groaned. In that case, you realised as you couldn't keep your thoughts back, most of your stuff wouldn't work. You'd have to make your own, if they didn't have any.

You glanced out the window before smiling. You grabbed your mask that hung by the glass and pushed the window open before jumping out. You laughed as you situated the (F/C) thing over your face.

Like second nature, you moved your arms down to the outsides of your shoes. They glowed a bright (F/C) as you adjusted them, flipping a few switches. The bottoms of the shoes turned from having no magnetism to having a negative charge.

Of course, in their neutral state, they still were magnets, but the charges saved up to give you extra boosts. After a short fall, you neared the roof of a building. You stood up straight as you sunk in the air, slowing down and angling yourself to be launched forwards.

You smiled, jumping on buildings and having fun, doing flips and flinging off poles and just messing around like it was your last time. Of course it wouldn't be, you'd come back. But you had the feeling it wouldn't be the same. An odd type of sadness filled you. Or something.

You shook off the strange feeling and relished in flying through the dark, early morning sky. You'd usually go around the outside, near the Marine District, but you headed towards the parts surrounding the Supernova District. The Districts were scattered throughout the Outside, which covered the majority of the land. They were blocked off by thick, tall stone walls and are built several hundred metres into the air.

You sighed. You'd been around those parts, but not very often. It was further from your shop and house and always seemed boring in comparison. You figured, though, you'd be spending a lot more time around there from then on.

The scenery was about the same, tall, crowded buildings with thin, crowded walkways, a couple of other Gears around, soaring through the sky alongside you, and stray animals scurrying around.

You could see the towering Supernova Distract after an hour or so of Maging over the buildings, and you couldn't help but huff softly, a little disappointed and proud at yourself. In the corner of your eye, you saw some Gears chasing down a group of Losts, people who were affected by the new types of pollution that all the new technology let out.

After thousands of years, there were considerably less, but they still made up over half the population in the main sections of the Outside, but there are areas where there are very few normal people. You'd only been to a few places like those, and they were pretty far away.

You've reached the end of published parts.
