Natasha's POV

"Hey," I said, picking up my phone.

"Hello, Little Red."

"Stark. To what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked, balancing my phone between my shoulder and my ear as I packed clothes into my boxes. It was a week until school ended and I had barely anytime until Russia, especially considering the plan I had devised with Tony. Not that anyone knew about it.

"Just thought a warning would be appropriate. Now that Steve knows about Russia, they want to throw you a surprise party. Last Friday of school."

"Shit," I mumbled, tossing a jacket down exasperatedly.

"Yeah. I don't know, Romanoff. You have two options, bail, or just tell them the truth. The full truth."

"Thanks."

"Yeah."

I hung up and yelled out of pure frustration, rubbing my forehead.

"Hey, what's up?" Bucky asked, peeking his head in the door.

"Nothing. Nothing at all." I continued shoveling clothes into boxes while he just watched. "What?"

"Nothing," Bucky shrugged. He turned to leave slowly and knocked on the doorway as he left. I sat on my old bed and looked around the room.

I was doing the right thing. Once I was done taping the boxes shut, I got a text from Tony.

Tiny Tony: got them to move the party to the day of. gonna be rough but can u try to make it if i tell phil to move the flight back a couple hours?

I bit my lip.

Me: not sure. go ahead w it, i might be able to make it.

Two Days Later

Third Person POV

"Hey, have you guys seen Natasha? Her party's starting in like five minutes, I was supposed to pick her up from Bucky's, but he said she never came back from packing at her house," Maria said, putting her phone in her pocket. "He went back to check on her, but she was gone, and so were all her boxes."

"Yeah, even though she cane back to school for like, a day, after she disappeared for the first three days last week, she disappeared again. Cleared out her locker, too. She still has, like eight days before leaving right? She doesn't need to clean out out her locker this early."  Wanda said.

Everyone was sitting on Tony's couch in his living room. "I think it's time for me to spill the beans," Tony said, looking at the floor.

Steve, Rhodey, Sam, Bucky, Pietro, Wanda, Pepper, Carol, Maria, and even Sharon had gathered to say goodbye to Natasha. They all turned to face Tony, who raised his eyebrows and let them down with a quick exhale of breath.

"Natasha came to me. After she set her mind on going to Russia, she asked me for help," Tony began, leaning forward. "Asked me to not tell a single soul until the day of."

"Tony, what the hell are you talking about?" Steve asked, getting worried.

"She's not leaving for Russia once school ends, she's leaving today. That's why she wasn't in class, she took all her finals ahead of time. Got her passport renewed early, and discussed her enrollment with the dean."

"You're not serious, right?" Bucky asked incredulously.

"She asked to borrow my family jet. She's going to leave in an hour, but she needs half an hour to get her stuff on board and get situated." There were murmurs and gasps throughout the group and Tony kept speaking. "She was explicit about not telling anyone. The jet's at Stark Tower, I'm sorry guys." As if that wasn't enough, Tony added on. "She gave security directions not to let you guys up."

Steve cussed silently under his breath and stood up, grabbing his jacket. "Stark. Please. You have to get security to let us in."

"I don't know, Steve. Natasha didn't want to make things harder than they already would be. She made me swear on my life. I didn't understand her reasons for doing this, and honestly, I still don't, but she's my friend. I promised her. And I'm sorry, I really am, I tried to convince her to just leave at least a day later."

"Tony. You know how much she means to me. I don't wanna know she's going without properly saying goodbye," Steve's face was desperate.

"Tony, come on, we all need to say goodbye, too. Tell me honestly you want to let Natasha go without saying goodbye, too," Sharon said firmly.

Tony stared into blank space and then stood. "I'm sorry, guys. I really can't do that." Steve bit his lip and nodded, sitting back down. Maria sighed and Wanda blinked back tears. Everyone else was silent.

"No. I'm sorry, I have to go try," Steve stood, grabbing his jacket and rushing to the door. Tony didn't try to stop him but stood up.

"Steve," He called out. Tony held up Steve's motorcycle keys, which he had left on the table. Tossing them to Steve, he smiled. "Good luck."

Steve nodded and ran to the door, throwing it wide open. But he just stood there.

"Steve?" Carol called out, noticing his still figure.

"That's Tony's car, that wasn't here before," Steve pointed at the driveway, looking to Tony for confirmation.

"That's the car Natasha took to the tower," Tony said, his face blank. He stood and everyone rushed to the door. Natasha stepped out of the driver's seat and shut the door.

"Hey," She smiled, walking up the stairs leading to the door.

Everyone stood there smiling and greeting Natasha as she approached them at the door. Steve had yet to say anything and Natasha stared at him nervously.

"You came," He finally said, laughing.

"Yeah," Natasha smirked. Steve hugged her tightly and she laughed, returning the favor. "Now, come on. I have half an hour for this party, let's make it count."
