"Brainy, we need somewhere to place our kryptonite vacuum, so can you make a cut here?" Lena pointed to Supergirl's forearm and drew a dotted line in black sharpie where she wanted him to cut.

The microscopic device that Brainy had from the future had almost three hundred different purposes but somehow sucking out poison from someones bloodstream was not one of them. Lena and Brainy had worked as quickly as they could, to reverse the medicine dispenser to take out kryptonite for nearly two whole hours, which was pretty quick considering the extreme pressure they were both under.

Lena flipped the switch for the red sun lamps and watched as Brainy picked up a scalpel on the table, and carefully cut an incision on the dotted line. He held his breath, wincing as the blood slowly began spewing from the cut. Lena held out two of the kryptonite vacuums that they had worked on, in her hand and delicately implanted the devices in Supergirl's flowing bloodstream.

"Ok.. Brainy, now I need you to turn the yellow sun lights up to max power so her cut can heal and the vacuums suck out the kryptonite from her blood."

Brainy brightened the sun lights, then looked up at Lena, waiting for further orders. "Anything else?"

Lena shook her head and stood watching the green in Supergirls veins slowly begin to fade. She pulled up the chair near Supergirls bed, sat down and held her hand. Lena sighed staring at Supergirls motionless face, staring as her chest was slowly lifting and falling. It seemed as if the entire room was filled by the sound of Supergirl's heart beating, faster and faster. Then out of nowhere, Supergirl's eyes popped open and bolted upright, startling Lena.

"Holy shit! Supergirl?!" Supergirl's eyes fluttered then they rolled back into her head, passing out.

"Alex! Come here now! Supergirl just woke up, then passed out!"

Alex bolted up the stairs and burst into the room. "What?!" She rushed over to Supergirl and checked all of her vitals, then Supergirl woke up again. Her eyes fluttered again and Supergirl grabbed Alex's arm.

"Alex... what the hell...happened..? Wait where's Reign..?"

"Woah, woah! Supergirl calm down. You were shot by a kryptonite gun and your blood was infected. You are weak, and your powers are currently unavailable since your bloodstream is filled with the kryptonite. Luckily Lena and Brainy created two small devices to suck out the kryptonite from your body. You just need to rest, ok?"

"No, where is Reign? We need to stop Reign!"

"Supergirl, you need to calm down and get some rest. Alex and the DEO have everything under control with Reign, so just lay back down...please.."

Supergirl obeyed Lena and laid back down in her bed, arms folded.

Alex turned to Lena. "Can you give us a minute?"

"Yes, of course." Lena hurried out of the room and Alex waited until Lena had gone downstairs.

"Kara, Lena's right." Alex murmured. "You need to rest you aren't in good shape. You are staying here until we are a hundred percent sure you have your powers back and are healed completely."

Kara bobbed her head and waved her hand off, like what Alex has just said was a joke. "I want to tell Lena who I really am."

Alex glared at Kara, with a look that definitely meant she was pissed. Kara obviously hadn't even acknowledged what she had just said. "Are you kidding me?? Did you even listen to anything I just said?"

"Yes, Alex I did and I understand, but I can't keep Lena in the dark about this forever. I've wanted to tell her and I've wanted to tell her how I really feel. I will listen to your orders, but please do one thing for me and get my glasses."

Alex sighed and rubbed her eyes. All she did was nod then stride out of the room, frustrated.
                 <><><><><>
Alex had come back to the DEO with Kara's glasses and placed them on the table next to her while she was asleep. Lena had stayed in the room with Kara to monitor her condition, but had also fallen asleep.

The sound of the door had startled Kara and awakened her. "Oh? Alex, you're back."

"Yup. And I grabbed your glasses for you."

"Thank you, Alex." Alex smiled weakly then quietly left the room, leaving Kara and Lena alone.

Kara gently shook Lena's shoulder, which immediately awoke her. "Supergirl? What is it? Is something wrong?"

"Umm... well yes and no.. I have something that I need to tell you that I definitely should have told you sooner." Lena looked puzzled but nodded. "I also want you to know that it was for your safety and I didn't want to see you get hurt, because I care about you."

Kara reached for her glasses on the table and closed her eyes as she placed them in her face. She heard a gasp from Lena, which wasn't surprising, but then she heard soft muffled crying. Kara opened her eyes and saw Lena crying at the sight of her.

"Lena... I'm so, so sorry... I just wanted to protect you. If you knew before it could've endangered you and if anything were to happen to you because of me, I'd never forgive myself."

Lena squeezed her eyes shut and stood up and left the room without uttering a single word. Lena quickly ran out of the DEO trying to avoid anyone, so they wouldn't see her crying like this. Why was she crying? She never cried like this in front of other people.

I'm a Luthor. Luthors don't cry. Lena thought to herself. And to cry about something as silly as this? I'd look like a weak coward. You need to stay strong.

Lena slide into the limo, that was taking her home and cried in the backseat. She held her knees close to her chest, stuffing her face into her legs to try to muffle her whimpers.

She was hurting inside. She knew that knowing Supergirl's real identity would put her at risk, but the fact that her closest friend, of all people, kept that from her stung. It felt as if Kara had just stabbed Lena through the heart. Lena cared about Kara but didn't know how to react. Everything was just happening all to fast, and for once, Lena couldn't do anything to make the loud voices inside of her stop. If only she had someone to hold her, and tell her everything was going to be all right.

If only she could have someone to love her and kiss her to just make all the pain go away, but that was the problem. Lena didn't have anyone to love because she wanted to love someone who had just hurt her. Someone who had kept a giant secret deep down, until they nearly died. And that someone just so happened to be Supergirl.

*what'd do you all think is gonna happen next? Is Lena going to push her feelings for Kara away? Is Lena going to be true to her heart and admit she loves Kara? Well you all have to wait until chapter four, so stay tuned!*
