Day Dreaming

I stood, leaning against the railing of my balcony, my face uplifted to the starry night sky. In the six months since I met Scorpio and the other Zodiac gods so much had changed in my life. I had never believed in reincarnation, yet I had stars in my eyes that once belonged to the goddess of Fate. It didn't seem like it had been half a year since the six fallen gods had crashed into my apartment.
They had come seeking my help to erase their marks of sin. I had been terrified at first; even swore I was dreaming until Scorpio saved me from falling to my death off the roof of the planetarium where I worked.
Scorpio had been so brash and hateful then. He hated humans and hated even more that he had to rely on me. His mark of sin suppressed his powers, but for some reason he could use them when he touched me. I know he hated it at first. He would sneer and look disgusted every moment we made contact. Slowly though and despite his rude, hostile nature we grew a bond like I could have never imagined.
I used to dread being called to the mansion to help him with his punishments work. The way he snapped his fingers to harshly punish all who had done wrong with no thought or care to how it may effect those around the person made me weary and frightened. what if I had done something wrong when I was near him? would he punish me as severely as those he looked down upon in his reflecting pool. Now with his sin absolved and him back in the Heavens I missed him.
Scorpio would come and visit me when he could but work had had him so busy lately it had been ten days since I saw him last. I sighed heavily and bowed my head. "I wish you weren't so busy".
"Pfft, you really missed me that much," a familiar, sarcastic voice sounded from behind me.
I spun around to see Scorpio fully adorned in his Department of Punishment uniform. I would never tell him this but he looked really sexy in those clothes.
"It's been almost two weeks since we saw each other. Are you saying you didn't miss me at all?"
"Tch, why do you always have to say such stupid things," a lite blush rose to Scorpio's cheeks. He had missed me, though I knew he would never say as much.
"I don't have a lot of time before I have to get back to the Heavens."
"Oh" I sighed.
Of course he didn't. We had been together for six months, an official couple for five and the time we spent together gradually kept growing shorter. I couldn't help but think that maybe my being human was the real reason Scorpio was spending more time in the Heavens. He hadn't touched me, I mean really touched me, not even once. We occasionally held hands or kissed but that was the full extent of our physical contact.
"I probably have enough time to watch one of those crime shows you like so much. if you want."
Sure, I smiled half heartedly and we walked into my apartment.
As we sat on the couch and watched the Criminal Minds rerun Scorpio seemed lost in thought. He was fidgety and restless like he couldn't wait to leave.
I sighed again.
What's your problem, Scorpio grumbled in his usually overly harsh tone.
I had grown used to that. He was always hostile and aggressive. When ever he attempted to be sweet he always ended up just being awkward. He would blush and I would giggle at his cute awkwardness. My enjoyment infuriated him but despite his brash nature he wasn't really mean like most people or gods believed.
"Nothing" I replied and fixed my gaze on the television screen.
Scorpio huffed and glared at me before returning his gaze to the television.
As the program faded into commercials I felt Scorpio's arm drop from the back of the couch where it had rested to around my shoulders. The tips of his fingers grazed my bare skin. Usually I would have been nervous to wear a some what revealing strapless blouse like the one I had on now but the sensation of his skin on mine was nice. I was thankful for the exposure.
A preview for the the third movie in the Fifty Shades trilogy Fifty Shades Darker began to play.
The scene that played on the screen was a somewhat intimate display between the striking sadist Christian Gray and his lovely yet innocent girlfriend.
"I wish Scorpio wanted me the way Christian Gray wants her," I mused to myself, "maybe if I wasn't human he want to touch me like that".
Scorpio cleared his throat and pulled his arm away from me quickly.
"Oh NO!" I thought to myself and glared at him, "Did you just read my mind?!" I exclaimed at him
"Pfft, Why the hell would care what you were thinking," Scorpio scoffed and rose to his feet. "I gotta get back to the Heavens," he huffed and strutted through the doors of my balcony and disappeared.
