I sucked my teeth in annoyance as my character fell to his knees and hit the ground. He replayed his death sequence again as I was ganked for a second time today in one of my favorite online games.
I stared at the grayed out screen and ghost of my character before checking out the player names and layovers with my character stats and damage ratings. Three options were presented to me. In bold letters 'Resurrect with a God Scroll?' was the first, which would bring me back to life where I stood but God Scrolls weren't cheap or easy to come by. The second option was 'Back To Town?' basically just another way to resurrect but-
I frowned as I watched the gankers gather again into the area. From the looks of things they were all either good friends or from the same guild.
I debated my options as I watched.
I wasn't that far from town so my scrolls would be useless either way and a waste. So would making a run for it...
A chat box came up as I hit shift on my keyboard. And though the screen was greyed out on my still dead lower level character the trolls that kept targeting me planned to continue the camp. Dying only twice told me that. Their trap was set.
I smirked.But so was mine.
GuildChat:
Fried egg: You okay Ice?
Icecreamπ:I'm trying to do the achievement to open the new race and these @sswipes ganking me 😒
Snugable: clearly they don't know who you are and have a death wish xD
NopeNotABot: Who F*ckin w Ice?!Fried egg: Where are you?
IceCreamπ: Upper north mountains Shadows Ditch
VenusVixen:...still waiting for you to say what it is you want us to do?
Fried egg: Same...
VenusVixen:Unlike some of these dumasses I sent you a friend request when we started playing and can see you on the map...I chuckled as my guildmates started to bicker at my second in commands words. It had taken quite a bit to build this guild up to what it is and now because of me we were move to a whole new chapter soon.
GuildChat:
IceCreamπ: We're only on here for another 48 hours before the switch...so I say mop the floor with them!I smirked as I sat back in my chair playing the bait as my guildmates slowly gathered to my position. As I died for like the 10th time on this character I looked at the last choice on my greyed out screen: Choose another character.
=======
I sighed as I scratched my cheek. This was all a bit overwhelming but I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. I racked my brain for a second more as all the eyes watched me.
"Take your time Beaufort-san. We know Japanese isn't your first language."
The teacher smiled at me kindly. I tucked a piece of my pale hair back as my new classmates started murmuring.
"Thank you for your kind words sensei but that's not the problem..." I left the sentence open as I step forward with a mental sigh.
"H-Hello, my name's Chihiro Beaufort...er I- I mean Beaufort Chihiro. I'm half French and half Japanese but I was born and raised in France. Please take care of me..." I awkwardly finished as I lingered at the front debating...
Everyone stared as a few awkward seconds passed by...
"W-well thank you Beaufort-san you-"
Suddenly remembering what it was I bowed really low at the hip.
'The problem is my manners.' A blush spread across my face as a few people snickered.Karasuno High.
That's the high school my dad had let me pick. He had been surprised. Out of all the schools in Japan and this was the one I had picked. You see my dad was a big deal. He's a businessman and it speaks for how much money we have that he's just decided to pick up shop and move to my mom's home country. He's also really smart though and the reason why we can use the family name quite freely without it coming with the annoying attention that money usually do.
He used mom's maiden name for the company name.
"Beaufort-san, have you joined a club yet?" I smiled up at one of the girls standing next to my desk. Yuri I think it was her name but here it would be rude to call her such yet without permission because we just met but I couldn't recall her last name.
"N-No...there are so many. I can't possibly choose." I giggled nervously as the girls continued their conversation. If I was honest I knew I wanted to join a sports club but I couldn't bluff my way out of manners forever. I was bound to be extremely rude to someone without knowing it or even knowing how to fix it.
'Ohh I should have listened to mom! I should have paid attention to my tutors more or did more research when I had the chance. I'm doomed!'
========="Who wants some rude ass second year on their team that should know better by now? I sure wouldn't..." I glared at the club activity form in my hand as I muttered in French. Lunch had started just a bit ago when sensei had managed to give me the form before I headed off in search of the vending machine.
"Are you quite done yet?" I froze as I heard the annoyed voice. No one pov
The black-haired boy stared intensely at the girl's back as she talked to herself in another language. She had to be the transfer student everyone had been gossiping about. If that was the case she was his senpai, a second year. They very rarely had students transfer in on the second year. Kageyama glanced her over. She was tall for a girl maybe 5'8-5'9 and unless they were playing a sport that was taller than a little under half of the girls here. She sported pale blonde hair and-
"Are you quite done yet?" Kageyama frowned he just wanted milk and she was taking up the machine with her outer dialogue. She froze and whipped around. The look of pure horror on her face certainly caught him off guard as well as the bright blue eyes.
"Moushiwake-gozaimasen-deshita!" She bowed.
Kageyama stared startled at her overly formal apology. He rubbed his neck looking away.
"Geez, Kageyama it looks like you scared the pants off the poor girl."
He glanced over as three of his teammates came up the hall.
Daichi shook his head as he looked back at the second year girl still hooked over in a bow.
"It's okay you can get up now. Kageyama is like that to everyone. He's pretty uptight." The blue eyes looked up at Daichi as Kageyama protested.
"It's not my fault that-""Now now Kageyama-san listen to your senpai and apologize to the young lady for scaring her half to death." Daichi's eyes glared at the first year but his lips smiled as he grabbed his head and they both bowed to Chihiro. The other two sniggered at the freshman's struggling as Chihiro looked on in bewilderment.
"Now that that's done. My name's Sawamura Daichi. I'm a third-year and captain of the volleyball team." He smiled.
He had dark hair and dark brown eyes to match. Chihiro's eyes shifted to one of the guys behind him as he took a step up. He was shorter then Daichi and a tuff of his hair was dyed but the smug smile on his lip told Chihiro of his endless confidence."Name's Nishinoya Yū but you can call me Nishinoya-Kun, Beautiful. I'm the Libero."
Chihiro stood up and looked at the tallest one present. He seemed nervous under her gaze. He scratched the back of his head which was pulled back in a bun and gave an awkward smile.
"Um...I'm a third-year like Daichi. My name's Azumane Asahi. I'm the volleyball a-ace."
When she looked to freshman there was just silence for a moment.
"Come on you too freshman." At his Captain's demands, Kageyama crossed his arms.
"Kageyama Tobio. First-year. Setter."Chihiro smiled finally. "My name's Beaufort Chihiro. I'm the second year from France. It's nice to finally meet you Karasuno Crows." They all looked at the girl stunned as she beamed at them.
