"Christina Anne Bishop!" Megan's voice calls from downstairs. I laugh at the use of my full name.
"Im almost done! Hold on!" I yell back. I check my makeup one last time, and run a brush through my long, wavy brown hair. I slip a pair of black heels on and rush down the stairs. I smile as I see My two best friends waiting. Megan- a blond haired, short skinny girl, and Carly- a black haired girl who is about my height. I have known them since grade school, and wouldn't trade them for anything.
As I travel further down the stairs, my smile widens until I'm grinning like an idiot. To the side of Carly in absolute perfection, otherwise known as mt boyfriend. Andrew and i have been dating since Sophomore year, and I couldn't be happier. I get butterflies in my stomach every time I see his green eyes and his blond, slightly ruffled hair. Honestly"? I am hopelessly in love. And he treats me perfectly, too. random gifts that are heartfelt, and carefully thought out dates. not to mention he was a great kisser. He look absolutely dashing in his tuxedo and royal blue bow tie.
We had to match of course. I was weraing a straples layered royal blue dress that come all the way down to the floor. the dress was absolutley stunning, and I had my aunt to thank. She made it- needle and thread and all. Megan was wearing pink, and megan was in silver. Its just lie them to stand out and i loved them for it.
"You look gorgeous." Andrew says, his eyes sparkling.
"You don't look too bad yourself" I reply, standing in my tiptoes to place my lips on his. Here comes the butterflies...
The noise of my father clearing his throat behind me separates us.
"Sweetie you look beautiful." he says.
"Thanks, dad" I reply solemnly. my father and i have never been close. we hardly ever talk, and he id hardly ever at home. he takes a few quick steps closer to me, then gives me a hug.
"I am so proud of you." he whispers. We seperate and I smile at him. I was proud of him, too.
a part of me still wished my mother had not left us. that she haad stayed andn raised me like a proper mother would. instead she left me, us, when i was 10 leaving my father alone tto raise me. She should have been here. she should have been here after I got my first boyfriend and first kiss. she should have benn here to teach me how to braid my hair, and take me and my friends to the movies. i miss her everyday. i know i should feel anger, but I just feel longing.
a quick glance at the clock shows that we must keave now if we are to make it on time. After quite a few pictures, we head out the door and into Andrew's car. Meg and Carly slide into the back, while i sit in the passenger seat with Andrew driving. His hand links in mine, our fingers intertwining. A choros of "Awwwww" 's echo from the back. I swing my head around and throw my two best friends a death stare. it doesent last long becauseI end up giggling.
"Sorry" carly starts "You two are jsut so CUTE together!" I hope Andrew doesent see me blush as He squeezes my hand tighter.
The car rounds the corner I see our school, Bridgewood High. But not for long. we are in 12th grade, and this is our last year. The gym has been decorated to this year's theme- under the stars. fitting, I think. This city has np office buildings, just small shops and parks, so the stars are visible every night. (A/N- i think im going to pull a springfeild here. not telling you where they live, we'l see how that works out! ) I have live here all of my life, and I must say, its incredibly boring.
andrew pulls the car into an open parking space at the front of the school, turning off the engina and hopping out. he quicky rounds the car, opening my door, too. I smile, thinking how perfectly polite he is. Meg and Carly open their doors and then we all proceed inside. Andrew's arm snakes its way around my waist, and I cant help but look like a freaking tomato. Man this boy was good. The doors of the gym are opened my one of the junior waiters, clad in a black shirt and pants. As we stepped inside the huge room, my breath caught im my throat.
Sparkling lights have been placed all around the ceiling, making it almost look like legit stars against the navy blue paint. all arount us wass a shimmery silver too. and im sure i could go on for hours dscribing each and every small detail. I hardly noticed the band in stage checking mics, getting ready for their probably only gig this year as my eyes roamed rhe almost half filled room. Apparently Megan did, though.
"Oh My God.Oh My God. OHMYGOD!" Meg sqealed. I whipped my head around thinking something was wrong.
"What? What is it?" I questioned. Even Andrew raised his eyebrows, while Carly just looked annoyed.
"ONE DIRECTION!"
Well, so much for the best Prom night ever.
