In this era of globalisation, everything seems to revolve around technology. Nowadays we use technology for almost everything it can easily help us to complete our tasks faster and more efficiently in our daily life. However the real question that has been a worldwide debate is, can digital devices replace traditional textbooks?

In my opinion, it certainly can and hopefully will in the near future. Despite that the traditional textbook holds much more reliability however its disadvantages has long overrun its advantages. This is because traditional textbooks requires deforestation for the paper use which in addition will cause harm to the nature. No doubt that by switching traditional textbooks to using digital devices or as many calls it e-book can help preserve the earth longer.

Admittedly that reading through traditional textbook could also provide comfort to some such as the comforting smell of paper. Nevertheless, digital devices are much more convenient than heavy textbooks. Digital devices can minimise the burden of a student carrying large heavy textbooks around and risk them having back pains in a young age. Even though digital devices are small, it can hold a great amount of storage. Allowing students to have excess to their books anytime and anywhere without having to carry traditional textbooks everywhere.

In addition, e-books on digital devices are known to be much more cheaper than printed traditional textbooks. This is due to the fact that tradition textbooks require printing fees and shipping fees. The cheaper price of a textbook would help many students who are living in poverty but are desperately seeking knowledge. As the saying goes, "knowledge is power." In some cases books on digital devices are free which is very helpful to people who are facing financial difficulties especially in this modern world.

In conclusion, digital devices can help us in many ways we could never even imagine. Therefore, we should grasp this opportunity to replace traditional textbooks with digital devices and help make the world a better place. By doing so we are able to reduce the usage of papers and the demolish of tress. Hence, we are one step closer from preventing our earth from being uninhabitable. After all technology was invented to make our life easier.
