Chapter 43

***Graduation Day***
Luke's POV
I woke up to my lovely girlfriend. Gosh I love her and I'm so glad we are graduating together today! I can't believe it!!!!
"Wake up baby girl" I said planting a little kiss on her nose. "You missed." she said in that sexy sleepy voice. "Oh I did?" I said teasing her. "Yes Luther... you did." I semi crawl on top of her making sure not to hit her leg, and I give her a long passionate kiss. "Much better. But we need to ge-. OH MY GOSH WE GRADUATE TODAY!" She said excitingly. "I worry about you sometimes." "Hey mister. Watch it." she said giving me the 'evil' eye. "You know you love me." I said with an innocent face and puppy dog eyes. "Yeah right."

We got downstairs and everyone screamed "SURPRISE!" Confetti was shot, balloons were everywhere and a huge banner was up that said "happy graduation day!!"

Jen's POV
I couldn't believe my eyes when I got downstairs! As we started to eat breakfast which was huge and must I say delicious, everyone started to give us cards.

We went up stairs to get ready I got in the shower and washed my body, washed my hair, and shaved my legs. When I got out I slipped on my panties and bra then put on black dress that came about 4 inches above my knees. I opened the door and walked out to see Luke wearing black pants a black long sleeve shirt with a red tie. "holy crap you look hot." I said with a smile. "you look stunning baby." he said kissing me.

It just hit me... my parents. They aren't here. They won't see their little girl graduate. I started crying. Luke rushed over and sat me on his lap. He knew my I was crying so he just comforted me.

"They aren't here." I said. "I know baby, but do you know how proud they are of you? I bet ya there throwing a party up there in heaven for you right now! They're watching over you and smiling down on you because they know how beautiful and smart you are. They love you. They are here with you right now, you just can't see them."
"I know. Thank you so much Luke. I love you so much you don't even know." "I love you too sweetheart."
Right after this Gary knocked on the door. "come in" I said.
"Hey Luke can me and Jenna have a minute?" "Yes sir. Of course." he gave me one more kiss before leaving.

"Hey sweetheart." "hey Gary." "look I know this is tough ok. just know that you've got all of us rootin for ya. We are so proud of you!" "Thanks Garebear"
"I've got something for you." he reached and got a envelope with my name on it from his back pocket.
I remained quiet as he began to explain. " When your mom and dad were in the hospital after they got shot, they told me they wanted me to help them compose a couple letters for big occasions like this for you and your brother. They told me what to write and I did. They gave it to me and told me to give the letters to you when it came time for these things so here is one for graduation. I want you to read it now. Ok?" By the time he was done we were both in tears. I nodded my head. "I won't Luke to be with me. Can you send him up?" "Of course" Gary gave me a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek before he left the room.

Luke came and sat beside me on the bed. I opened the envelope and began to read the letter.

Our dearest Jenna Kate Myrick,

By the time you read this, we will be gone. But don't worry about us, for we are in a better place now with our loving Savior Jesus Christ. We will suffer no more.

From the moment you were born and we held your tiny body, we knew you would grow up to be beautiful young lady. Watching you grow up was the greatest joy and we hate that we have miss the rest of your beautiful life. Always know that we are with you in your heart and we are watching over you.

Today is the day you graduate! Wow! We always knew you would get to this part of life even with the bumps in the road. You are extremley smart and diligent in your work. We know that you will go on to do great things in this world. As you walk across that stage think of us and how proud we are of you. We are smiling down on you and we walk right beside you.

Give everyone a big hug for us!

We figure that by now you may have a boyfriend... (sigh). Your growing up too fast! Tell him that even though we haven't met him, we still love him. Also tell him to take care of you. Make sure your Uncle Gary scares the life out of him which im sure he already has!!!

Please know that we love you so much words can't even express. Now go graduate and take on the world!!!!!!!!!!

"Oh my gosh. That was beautiful." i barely chocked out. I was full flege sobbing uncontrollably. "Shh its ok baby. See what I mean? This should help put you at peace." Luke said in the voice that never fails to calm me down. "I know. It does. Thank you for sitting with me." "Darlin its no problem. You know I'm always here for you!"

Luke's POV
Jenna put on light makeup, even though i told her she didn't need it, and we walked downstairs. Gary came and gave Jen a hug, then we left for school.
Graduation didn't start until 2:00 so we arrived around 12:45 to get our caps and gowns on, rehearse our musical things and speechs, and many other things. Me and Jenna are singing "Your gonna miss this" by Trace Adkins. I'm so excited!!!! Jenna was the Valedictorian so she had to deliver a speech.
The ceremony started and we walked in alphabetical order and sat down in the chairs on the football field. I was one of the first ones to be called. "Thomas Luther Bryan" I walked across the stage, shook hands with everyone, and recieved my dimploma.
They finally got to Jenna's name. "Jenna Kate Myrick" As she walked across the stage I could tell she was thinking about her parents.
Jenna gave a GREAT valedictorian speech. Now it's time for us to sing.
I played the piano as she sang the first verse. We joined each othe on the chorus. I sang the second verse then we sang together again for the rest of the song. It was so beautiful. We even got a standing ovation!
The ceremony was soon over and we threw our caps!
Jen hobbled over to me as I picked her up spun her around. Wow! Now I get to chase my dream!!!
