You know that you're in love when it hurts. Hurts to not be with them, around them, or close to them. The feeling almost becomes physically unbearable and that is how Ben and Callum feel.
They can't feel the touch of one another, for days sometimes, because life takes over. Callum's life was being made with Whitney, while all Ben can do is watch. He has no control over anything. All he can do is observe while his eyes burn and his heart aches, whilst feeling the pain of knowing Callum is holding, caring and kissing Whitney. It wasn't fair, but then again life isn't fair. He is forced onto the sidelines because that is the only way he can have what he wants and that is Callum.
It was a quiet evening and Ben was feeling down. Sitting in the dim lighting of the living room, he was thinking about the last time he was able to hold Callum, and I mean really hold him. He was trying to remember his smell, anything that would bring him a little comfort, that would just keep him going. It had been one week since he had last been with him, but it felt like an eternity. However, their last encounter had been passionate. They had embraced each other with such relief. Being able to just automatically drop who ever they were trying to be, right until they get to be with each other, and then the fake personas completely dissolve into pure love. When they were together, their is no one to please, no rules to follow and no expectations. Each kiss unloaded all their problems, because when its just the two of them, nothing else matters.
Ben snaps out of his thoughts as his phone going off. It was Callum. It read,
"You can come over now, Whitney has gone out x". Ben instantly smiles, springs up and runs out the door. He gets to Callum's flat and knocks quickly. The door opens within 5 seconds and Callum pulls Ben in by his jacket. With his breath heavy, Ben says "it's been so long." Callum looks at him, "I'm sorry". He leans in and they kiss slowly and deeply. Ben softly places one hand on Callum's neck with the other hand gripping his shirt. The kissing becomes more intense as Callum grabs Bens waist, pulling him in closer. They had been starved from each other for too long, which had made their hunger for each other intolerable. The torture they had felt when apart, disappeared when together. Reunited, but only temporarily as the cycle of what is an affair will inflict pain, in some shape or form once again.
