~Kahli~
"Kahli, there is a surgery you can take to enhance your probability of living more than a month.  Are you 100% sure you do not want to take it?" Dr. Wyatt said with concern, seeing worry fill his dark, blue eyes.

"Dr. Wyatt, there are always risks to surgeries. Honestly, I don't believe I'll have much longer to live anyway," I replied with a small sigh afterwards, showing him a smile to not indicate any more worry. "I won't take the surgery."

"Are you sure? Maybe you're not in the right state of mind after informing you that you have a terminal disease. Do you need some time?-"

"Doctor, I'm okay."

He stared at me for a small period of time before averting his gaze to his clipboard, which held all my information in this hospital.

Dr. Wyatt has been attending me for the last couple of months. He was so determined that I could get past through this, back when I was still healthy. Except, life can be so unpredictable and crushes your hopes.

He didn't look so confident and determined anymore.

In the end, he wasted his time with me.

"Just.. Do everything that you ever wanted. I'm sure you have a bucket list of some sort. I don't want you to regret a thing," he said with a professional voice, clearing his tone afterwards.

Regrets.

Something everyone has.

Yet I don't hold a single regret that I know of. Nothing of sort that I want to do exactly that's thrilling.

But I just gave him a bright smile and nodded my head confidently. "No worries Doc, I'll make sure I don't regret my life!"

I stood up from my chair and made my way to the door, I took one last look at him before I headed out and gave him a small, sad smile.

"You won't have to worry anymore. I'm sure you have loads of other patients that have curable diseases. I was just an exception. Thank you for everything."

Without hearing a word from him, I closed the door behind me and made my way out of the hospital.

I looked at the time on my watch and made sure I wasn't late for opening my cafe.

~Khali's Cafe~

My mom said it has a nice ring to it. Sadly, she hasn't had the chance to visit at all.

Not that she doesn't have time..

That cafe was literally my home. I spent most of my time there that I moved my laptop and even a whole bookshelf over there. I even let some customers read some of my collection, since it was nice seeing their expression as they drank a cup of my brewed coffee.

The lively atmosphere you could see and feel was amazing. Someone even decided to propose here. I made a small cake for both of them, hiding a ring requested by the guy.

It was nice that my small cafe turned into something spectacular people could remember.

Some high schoolers and college students who attend nearby drop by here in the early morning, getting a coffee and/or pastry to go or stay in the evening, doing their work on their laptop.

Not to mention, the adorable dates that I see. I never get bored over there.

Apart from my cafe, I have an apartment.

I hate it.

Whenever I go inside of it, there is never a warm feeling about it. Where else the cafe, there is so much joy, laughter and the smell of freshly made coffee.

I guess I should've gotten friends or even a boyfriend. It would have at least made my life a bit thrilling.

I sighed to myself out loud as I got my keys out of my pocket, opening the entrance to my cafe.

Getting here one hour before can get exhausting. Especially since it opens at 7 in the morning to customers.

I made sure the close sign was showing at the entrance and headed my way to my counter, making sure all the coffee machines were working, I had all the proper ingredients and the cafe was organized and clean.

I went to my laptop and put on an instrumental soundtrack that you can hear from all over the cafe. I putt my hair up in a ponytail and hummed along while cleaning tables and the floor.

Time went by as I realized it was almost opening time. I some a few people outside, waiting for it to be opened from the glass windows.

My lips curved into a smile and I put all my cleaning supplies away and made sure once again, all the machines and ingredients were ready.

I turned and made my way to the entrance, turning the sign over from 'close' to 'open!'. I put on a bright smile and opened the door.

"Welcome~!"
