Cae's POV

A cold winter weekend, All to myself. This is great. It's the least I deserve after finishing a major interior renovation. I got my me time and it started out great. After months of devoting all my time to work, I get to rest for a full weekend.

It was Saturday morning and it was cool and relaxi- 'Can't buy me love, love. Can't buy me love. I'll buy you a diamond ring, my friend if it makes you feel alright. I'll get you anything-' Stupid phone

"Hello? Who's this?" I asked the caller.

"It's me, Babe! Ugh. How could you ask me that? You have my new number on your phone right?" It was my best friend, Red. She just got back from Canada a couple of days ago.

"What!? Are you seriously bugging me at this time of day? Please tell me you have a good reason for waking me up."

"Oh, Come on, Miss Cranky pants! I'm sorry for waking you but you should be up by now, You know. It's not the time for sleeping anymore." She scolded me.

"Red! Please give it a rest. I don't need your sermon right now. I just got my first weekend off of work. And I want to relax, So please? Let's talk later, Okay? Let me sleep in."

"Oh, No. No. No. NO. You are not hanging up. We never talk anymore and I got some news for you. And you'll surely love it!"

"Well? Tell me. Please just get on with it." She's starting to get on my nerves. I hate it when she does this.

"Fine. Well, I just got 2 overnight vouchers to this beach resort that's only a 2-hour drive from here. We could totally go to have that R&R you need so much." She said excitingly.

"That's it? If that's it, let's talk about it later. If you let me sleep now, I'll call you when I'm really awake."

"Ugh. Fine. Fine. I don't want you to say no, Do I? Well, I'll talk to you later! Love you!"

Finally. "Thank you. Love you too. I'll call you later. Ciao." then the line died. I snapped my phone close and tried to go back to sleep. I tried changing positions, fluffing my pillows, and putting a pillow over my head but I couldn't go back to sleep. Thank you, Red. Thanks a lot.

After a good long 5 minutes of just lying on my bed, I decided to finally get up, take a bath and cook brunch. Then I called the menace who woke me up.

After the first ring, she picked up. "He-"

"WELL IT'S ABOUT FREAKING TIME! I THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER CALL. WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?"

"Well, I'm sorry for taking so long to get my shit together after being bugged by a certain someone. What are we gonna talk about again?" I asked.

"Aww. Don't be too upset, please. Now, tell me that you will go with me to the beach. PLEASE TELL ME YOU'D COME. We'll have such a good time there." She whined.

"But it's my me time." I complained.

"Me time, Shme time. Let's go! What other way to have fun than with your best friend?! Am I right or am I freakin' right?" She had a point. I should go. Maybe I'd actually enjoy it there with Red. Just like the old times. We haven't gone out in so long. What's the worst that could happen, right?

"Okay. Don't be so loud, pretty please? I'll pack my things and fetch you there in an hour is that good?"

"Good? GOOD?! IT'S PERFECT! I so love you so so so much! You're the bestest best friend ever!"

Laughing at her excitement, I told her that if she wants to be there before dawn, we'd hang up. So we did.

I packed my bags in 30 minutes and changed to more decent clothes then took off. It took Red only 30 seconds to jump in the car with her luggage and we took off.

When we got there, we, meaning me, saw 2 guys hanging out in the lobby. And I knew them well enough to know that they are planning something. But there was one man missing. It was an incomplete picture because the 3 of them are closely considered as one. But it doesn't matter to me. It's actually great that he's not here. After all, he broke up with me.

Wait.

Scratch that.

He didn't really break up with me or anything.

He just left me.

No closure. No note. No messages. No goodbyes. No nothing. Just an empty apartment when I got back from Milan. I cringed at the thought.

They got smiles plastered on their faces but they seemed... different. Something was up. But I didn't have any interest to find out what it was. I smiled at their direction and dragged Red to the receptionist. We got our keys and proceeded to our rooms.

"This is gonna be sooo fun! I'm so excited! I'll just change. Meet you in 15?" Red said before she entered her room.

"Okay. Knock on my door when you're ready" I replied.

Our rooms were next to each other. But when I got in my room, I was taken aback. My room was so much different than Red's. It was a Presidential Suite, I think. With a big living room. Small dining table, a microwave, a sink, and a wonderful bedroom and bathroom. It was so big. Too big, Actually. Then the door leading to a balcony was open. I walked towards it and I saw my least favorite person.
