Chapter 1: Emily's Pov

I was sitting at my desk, I hadn't been feeling very well lately and I just wanted to go home and go to bed, I felt as though I was going to be sick, and I was hoping that it was nothing serious, but just to be sure I had made myself a doctor's appointment, and I had to leave work early we weren't on a case so I am able to slip out for a little while, "Hey Hotch, I have an appointment, and need to leave for a couple hours."

"Alright, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I've just been feeling a little sick lately and thought I should get it checked out."

He nodded his head and I walked out, I was hoping I wouldn't run into anyone else I didn't want to be bombarded with questions about where I was going and what I was doing. I went over to my desk to grab my purse when Garcia walked by, "Hey, where are you going?"

"Doctors appointment, I'll be back in a couple hours."

"Why, what's the matter, is it something I need to worry about?"

"Garcia, it's probably just a stomach bug, now I have to go before I'm late." I got into my car and drove to the doctors right as I pulled into the parking lot my phone rang. "Agent Prentiss." It was Aiden, Aiden and I have been dating for 3 years and the team doesn't know, I didn't want anyone to know or be in my business.

"Hey Babe, so I was wondering if me and the girls could come over tonight, I was able to get off of work so I figured we could order a pizza and hang out. If you're up for it, I know you've been feeling sick for the past few days."

"Yeah that sounds great Aiden, I'll try to get out of work by 5:00 PM it might be easy since we aren't currently on a case. Hey, let me go I'm about to walk into the doctor's office, I'll call you later, love you." I quickly hung up the phone and walked into the office. I signed in and waited, I felt as if I had been waiting for hours when it had only been 45 minutes. I felt super nauseous and just wanted to go home and go to bed, I haven't gotten much sleep lately.

A nurse came out and called me back into the room, "Hi, I'm nurse Alisson, so what seems to be the reason you are here today?"

"I've been feeling really sick and nauseous for the past week."

"Ok have you been sexually active recently?"

"Yes."

"When was the last time that you have had sex?"

"3 weeks ago." It all started to fit together, and I started to become very nervous, I could not believe that there was a possibility of me being pregnant.

She handed me a cup and told me the doctor would be in shortly. I did what I had to do and sat back on the table in the room, waiting again but now for the doctor to come into the room, the nurse walked back in and took the cup back to the lab. About a half hour later the doctor came in. "Hi, I'm Dr. Hawkins, it's nice to meet you, so we have your results back, and congratulations you are indeed pregnant." I gave a half-hearted smile. The doctor began talking to me about all the things that I needed to do as well as asking me questions about any medications I am on.

I had left the doctor's office almost two hours after my initial appointment. I then had to call Hotch, "Hey Hotch."

"Emily, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, everything is fine, I just got out of the doctors, is it alright if I just take a half day."

"of course, are you going to be alright to come in tomorrow?"

"Yes, well I will talk to you tomorrow. Bye." I hung up the phone and head home, I needed time to think, this was unbelievable, I mean I was happy, but it was just so unexpected. I texted Aiden to meet me at my apartment and that I was running to get some snacks for the girls and that I would order a pizza for dinner.

I walked into the grocery store and my phone started to ring. It was Garcia, "Hey Garcia whats up?"

"Hey E, are you alright, Hotch just told us that you weren't coming back to work today."

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'll be in tomorrow morning. I gotta go I'll talk to you tomorrow."

I hung up the phone and started to grab some snacks for the girls, Aiden had 3 daughters, Chloe who is 14, Nicole who is 9, and Ava who is 6. I grabbed some chips, and a few boxes of candy, I checked out and walked back to my car and drove home. It was now 5:00 Aiden lived in Warrenton Virginia which was about an hour away so he would be here at about 6:00 or 6:30. I figured I would order the pizza to be delivered around 5:45. I sat on the couch and eventually fell asleep, by the time I woke up Aiden and the girls were standing next to me, "Hey, sorry I guess I fell asleep."

"It's fine Emily, you've been really stressed about work, you deserve a break." I got up from the couch and gave him a kiss then hugged each of the girls, before grabbing my phone to order the pizza. "So how was your doctor's appointment?"

"It was fine, I do need to talk to you about something though."

"Ok we can talk after the food gets here."

I agreed that it would be best to wait, "So how's school going for you girls?"

Chloe was the first to respond, "It was fine, my teachers gave us so much homework for over the long weekend."

Then Nicole answered, "I started a new book and we moved onto learning division."

And finally, little Ava responded, "I had so much fun today we learned, and I got to paint a picture."

"Wow that's amazing Ava, I can help you with some of your homework if you need it Chloe and Nicole. The pizza got here quickly, and we all sat around eating, talking, and laughing, I haven't seen them in a couple weeks. so, it felt nice to see them again. "Hey girls after you finish eating why don't you go pick out a movie to watch while me and your dad talk." I cleared the table and Chloe grabbed the movie cases I had and they began to flip through.

I pulled Aiden into my room so that we could talk about what we needed to. "So, I'll go first, So Emily I wanted to talk to you about the case that I'm working on, and I know you spend a lot of time at work and probably don't want to deal with any of this, but can you please show your bosses the case."

"I'll send Garcia the file now." I took pictures of the file that he handed me and emailed them to Garcia so that she could read over them and so that Hotch could make sure that we get invited in on the case.

"there is one more thing that I would like to discuss with you that is not work related."

"Whats going on Aiden?"

"So, we've been dating for a while, right?"

"Yes." I paused not saying a word and waiting for him to continue.

"3 years to be exact. Well I was hoping that you would become my wife." I sat there for a minute looking at him and trying not to cry, I was speechless and all I was capable of doing was nodding my head. He put the ring on my finger, "I hope you like it, Chloe helped me pick it out."

"I love it, and I love you. Now I have something to talk to you about." I took a deep breath, I had to admit I was nervous to tell him that I was pregnant, not because I was afraid, he would be upset, but because it would make it that much more real. "So, you know how I had the doctor's appointment today?" he nodded. "Well I found out why I was so sick. Aiden I'm pregnant."

"Wow, ok that was unexpected, but also, exciting." He said with a huge smile on his face.

He kissed me and the girls walked in to tell us that they decided on a movie "So I'm guessing she said yes." Chloe came over to me and gave me a hug, Nicole and Ava ran up to me too.

They seemed super excited, "So what would you say if I were to tell you that you were getting a new brother or sister?" The three of them got super excited and just kept giving me hugs. We left my room and I put the movie on for them to watch all 5 of us curled up on the couch watching the movie Ava was the first to fall asleep, then Nicole. Chloe, Aiden and I stayed awake until the end of the movie and then I picked up Ava and Aiden picked up Nicole and carried them both to the guest bedroom and tucked them in.

Chloe offered to sleep on the couch and Aiden stayed in the room with me we got into bed and he kissed me, "I love you Emily."

"Love you too Aiden." And soon after we both fell into a deep sleep.
