"And they lived happily ever after. The end." Lizza closed the book that she was re"And they lived happily ever after. The end." Lizza closed the book that she was reading to her 5 year old niece Samantha. "I love the story of the story of The Little Mermaid. Don't you Titi Lizza?" Samantha beamed up as she waited for her aunt to respond to her. She was strangling a light brown teddy bear with a large pink bow around its neck. Lizza put the book on the nightstand and turned to face her adorable niece. "Yes it is one of my favorites." She helped the little girl get tucked into bed as she laid her down for the night. "Do you think that someday you will find your Prince Eric?" Samantha laid her head down on the pillow. Her long chocolate brown hair with soft curls covered the pillow, and her big brown eyes perfectly framed by the longest eyelashes that Lizza has ever seen in her life. "Maybe, but for now I am happy being a free little mermaid." She placed a soft kiss on her nieces head and got up off the bed. "Good night Sammy. Sweet Dreams." Lizza turned off the nightstand lamp and left her nieces rooms, but before she was able to close the door she heard Sammy say a soft "Good night Titi."

Smiling to herself she closed the door and walked to the kitchen. "She's asleep?" Lizza looked up to see her mother Elena with a cup of coffee in her hand. Nodding her head she made herself a cup of water. "Your Papa is asleep also. Christian said he will be back on Thursday for Samantha, so we have her 3 full days." Her Mama gave her kiss goodnight and walked to her bedroom. Once done with her cup of water Lizza decided to get herself to bed she had an early morning tomorrow.

"Morning!" Lizza turned and faced Daniel. She smiled at him. "Morning Danny! Here for your coffee?" He smirked. "You know that I can't start my day without it." She smiled at him as he took a seat at the table closest to the register as always. She had known Daniel since freshman year of high school, and every day since he graduated the Police Academy he comes into her parents cafe for a cup of coffee before heading to the station. Since he was like family he was allowed to just come in through the back door of the cafe if it was still closed to the public. La Isla was made by her Mama and Papa when they moved to Florida from Puerto Rico. It was her Mama's dream to have her own little cafe when they moved here, so her father surprised her one day when he showed her the spot that he bought with some savings that he was hiding. They remodeled it themselves and made it a success themselves. Since they weren't young anymore waking up early in the morning everyday to be open at 7am was a bit hard for them, so Lizza opened the cafe up Mondays through Fridays. Her parents did the weekends. She grew up in the cafe and had a love for it unlike any other. It was homey and warm. Decorated to feel as if you were in Puerto Rico eating in a cafe in Old San Juan.

"Morning girl!" Lizza turned to come face to face with one of her two best friends. "Morning Lana!" Right behind Lana was Megan walking in. The three of them have been friends since they were 4 years old. They made themselves busy getting the sandwiches ready for customers as they ordered them. Along with the orders of pastries and coffee. Every day there was a morning rush of customers, but the cook and the 3 girls were always fast and efficient workers. Once it was done Lizza parents were walking in along with Sammy and the afternoon crew. In the afternoon, there was no more breakfast and her Mama cooked dinner along with the night cook. That meant that the morning crews shift was done.

Hanging up their aprons the girls sat down in one of the tables in the corner. "Ugh my feet hurt. All that running around is exhausting sometimes." Megan lifted up one of her legs and held her foot and pouted. Lizza and Megan could only laugh her melodrama. The doorbell rang letting them know that someone was walking in. Lizza sipped her coffee and didn't look over to see. Megan dropped her foot to the ground and tapped Lizza in her arm. She looked up at Megan and saw her pointing to left with her eyes. Looking over she saw a group of guys all looked to be in their early 20's, but one caught her eye. He wasn't tall but he was definitely taller than her 5'3 frame. He was medium built, strong jaw line, soft almond eyes, he had muscles but he wasn't excessively built. It seemed that he worked out but not everyday. He turned and looked at her fully, and she couldn't help but feel her stomach do a summer somersault. He smiled at her, and blushed slightly. Lizza doesn't make it a habit to stare at guys. She actually didn't really care much for guys around her age, because all of the ones from her generation were idiots and only ever wanted sex.
