Dober was getting restless, he constantly wanted to be out patrolling the area. This meant that I was forced to accompany him whether I wanted to or not.
I learned a few things about him since he got here. He was a meat lover.
He hated a lot of things, only because it annoyed him in some way. He doesn’t know how to smile and his idea of a joke was shoving a guy in front of an oncoming bus.
Well, maybe it was a little funny.
He also made sure I ate all my meals and kept me always on my toes, by trying to remove them when he booby-trapped the God damn shower this morning!
“Wait here,” I told him with an irritated glare, while he snorted at my foul mood.
“Just wait here, please,” I desperately added when he tried to follow me into the coffee shop.
He gave me a stern look before facing the streets as if on guard. I'm not sure how long I can put up with him, having Dober around is extremely taxing on my wellbeing.
“What can I get you, miss?” The employee asked when it was my turn to order. “A cup of jo, please.”
The coffee was hot in my hand as I took a careful sip and let it warm my abused soul. “I can’t do this, I am going to expire at this rate.”
The coffee wasn’t making me feel any better.“Excuse me,” I mumbled out as someone blocked my path.
“Excuse me,” I repeated again when they shifted to the right the same time I did, and again when I moved to the left.
“Dude, seriously?” I was having a bad enough day, I don’t need this kind of bullshit.
“Really?” I whined. “I am not even going to ask how the hell did you find me, I am just going to leave.”
Andy refuses to let me through. “Can we talk?”
I wore an incredulous look on my face. Did he not hear me when I said I just wanted to leave?
“No, we can't talk. I don’t want to talk. I just want to leave,” I forcefully brushed past him.
“I know you killed her.”I paused at the door as I smiled at the people coming in and held it open for them. “You can’t prove it.”
“Please, I just want to talk.” He was really pathetic right now. He was starting to grow a beard and there were dark circles under his eyes.
“Was she worth it?” I spitefully questioned him. “You ditched me! And brought some cheap slut back to our place and into our bed!” I was losing grip on my temper, real fast.
I was making a scene, but fuck if I cared.
“You left with Jerry Tam!”
“He gave me a ride home because you were nowhere to be found! It was either accept a ride from him or walk home!” I was ready to chuck the coffee at his head.
He was the one who cheated. Yes, Jerry may have orchestrated the situation, even so, it could all have been viewed as a test and Andy fucking failed it.
“I know we could work this out,” he desperately pleaded. “But that’s the thing baby, I don't want to, I don't want you anymore.” And that was the truth.
I turned away, only to stumble back when Andy yanked me by my arm in fury. There goes my coffee.
I scowled at the mess while Andy opened his mouth, ready to start up another explosive argument, a fist unexpectedly collided with his face, sending him to the floor.
“Don’t touch her,” Dober growled out.
“Didn't take you long to move on,” Andy sneered as he wiped the blood from his busted lip and dusted himself off.
He was a whole foot shorter than Dober, yet he continued to dangerously push his luck. “You just fucking assaulted an officer, buddy.”
“You're off duty and you grabbed me,” I defended my partner which pisses Andy further.
“Dober no!” My arms tangled around Dober’s thick forearm when he took a step in Andy's direction. “He is not worth it.”
Andy’s eyes wetly stared upon my face when I said it. I looked away.
He hurt me first, I was merely returning the favor by tenfold.
“Let’s just go,” I nudged my head to our surrounding and Dober immediately understood.
Too many eyes.
He allowed me to go first before sending Andy a threatening glare.
This was far from over.
I rubbed my temple as I walked down the street. I can't do this. I don’t want to do this anymore.
Mother would understand if I requested for another agent…or not.
