Chapter 1
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away there lived a family. The Perfect family in fact.

Mr. Perfect was a banker with a solid paycheque. Mrs. Perfect was a pediatrician who loved what she did. Their children Billy and Sue Perfect, were top of their class.

One Saturday afternoon, they were way home from volunteering at their local pet shelter

"Well kids," Mrs. Perfect said, turning in her seat to face her children, "Wasn't that just splendid?"

"Oh absolutely!" They chorused

"I hope they all find loving homes" Sue said, staring out the window wistfully.

"I'm sure they will sweetheart." Mr. Perfect told her.

Sue looked over at her brother, wondering why he was unusually silent. He was staring intently at the back of their mother's seat, not moving a muscle.

"Billy?"

Billy started in his seat and whipped his head towards his sister.

"Everything okay?" She asked, a concerned smile on her face.

"Yup!" Billy said, his usual grin plastered to his face. "I guess I just zone out there for a second."

"It happens to everyone, darling," their mother cooed, "why, your father does it all the time!"

The family laughed before sinking into a comfortable silence for the rest of the ride home.

The comfortable silence was interrupted however, as they pulled onto their street and noticed an unfamiliar car in their driveway. Billy and Sue presses their faces close to the glass as they approached. The car was old and definitely not theirs. They looked towards their house and noticed it looks different too. The birdhouses were gone, and the flowerbeds different. The mailbox still said Perfect on it, but the paint was muted.

Mr. Perfect pulled into the driveway with a frown on his face. The family slowly got out of the car and made their way to the front door.
